𝐄𝐔𝐑𝐎𝐏𝐄 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐀 𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐘 𝐃𝐈𝐅𝐅𝐄𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐓 atmosphere. Or maybe it was the atmosphere inside the car. My self induced tension with Alex was most likely the one to blame.
But what kind of tension was this that took over my body? There's only so many of them. And I knew that there was one specifically that I was intently running away from.
I didn't want that to take ahold of me. Especially when things with Alex were finally looking up and seemed to be following the road I'd always envisioned.
Owning up to that would probably bring Alex's prideful walls up again, leaving me behind them without a single hope that would break them down.
But the intensity was worrying. I wasn't sure if I could maintain a stable balance for much longer. My mind was beginning to wander through an unexplored alley.
I've heard and read about feeling this way towards someone but this had to be abnormal. The thirst clogging up my throat and the pressure sitting between my legs made everything ten times harder.
I'd become a mess mind wise. And somehow he was just existing, not expecting anything. And I couldn't have been more desperate for him.
These thoughts were dangerous and I was aware of that. The most coherent thing to do was to try my best to not entertain these thoughts. Ones that I knew would take me overboard sooner or later.
A few songs from "Ultraviolence" seemed to be the temporary cure for being lost inside my own head. Those organic Turkish cigarettes would've also done it pretty well for me at that moment.
Bulgaria was a dream. The streets were brightly lit with cheerful tourists all over. I was the only one gawking at the window since the guys had already been here multiple times.
The hotel offered a complete experience. Surrounded by nature and columns that hauled the walls up in graceful manner.
The building was covered in a white coating of paint that despite the years remained intact. The van's doors opened and I jumped out, fixing my skirt inadvertently.
Alex pulled out his dark shades and wiped them with his white shirt. My eyes flew to the garment and then they slowly trailed up to his hands. I'd never paid such careful detail to them.
I admired the way his veins flexed as his fingers swayed the fabric across his sunglasses. His long fingers tracing the object with such unwittingly allurement.
My desire was arising slowly, but the waves just got more and more violent with each innocent action Alex performed. He wasn't noting it, but I was practically affixing my feet to the cement so I wouldn't get any closer to his body.
We walked into the hotel and I wasn't even captured by its luxurious forefront. Instead, I was fixating my gaze at every little sight Alex unintentionally gifted me.
I stared at him placing his hand on the top part of Matt's back. They spoke about something for a second before Matt gave him something. I fixed my disastrous posture once I saw him coming my way.
"Okay, take the key to our room. Yeh can go up now since me and the guys have got to leave for rehearsal and some other stuff" He explained, touching my shoulder.
"What do you mean 'our room'?" I questioned. "Did you arrange it so we could room together?" My voice lowered in tone as the guys were at clear hearing distance from us.
"Yeah, the girl behind the counter just had to do some little doohickeys and done" He shrugged, not noticing. Of course, the girl behind the counter fell for those darned cursed eyes of his.
"Alex, we can't let them suspect anything" I said through gritted teeth and sending a side-eye look to the guys that were arranging something.
"They don't suspect a thing. We've shared rooms several times before. Besides, if they ask me I'll tell them that we're doing this so public suspicions don't arise" He shrugged.
His explanation wasn't that far from being a possible truth. If I was positioned in a different point of view, I'd definitely be convinced by that story. I wondered how he came up with it so fast.
We both looked at the guys and realized that a man and a girl had approached them. They were taking a picture.
"Come on before they look for me" He placed his hand on my shoulder and pulled me behind a wall decorated with black and white pictures of the important guests that had stayed in the hotel.
"Alex" I whispered-yelled. He only chuckled with a harmonic sound to it.
His eyes looked magnificent even under the tacky lightning in the lobby. His hair fell in messy curls in his forehead. And our lips connected.
The kiss had an edge to it. He kissed me hard and seemed to be afraid to let go of my waist. I clung on to him with an unimaginable force, pulling him into me.
The warmth of his skin was enough to send me over the edge and made my mind run even wilder with the dangerously arousing fantasies it had formulated.
"Alex..." I murmured against his lips, despising the end of the moment. "You have to leave"
He pressed his forehead against mine, our eyes knew each other so well at this point. I knew every spec of brilliance that decorated his gaze daily.
"Act cool for God's sake" I shook my head.
"I don't act, baby. I'm already cool" He kissed my nose gently. I pressed my lips together.
"You may be pretty cool, but I'll always beat you at that game" I said quietly, playing with the chain that was always wrapped around his neck.
"Keep telling yourself that" He pinched my cheeks and took them in his hands. "Wait up for me tonight. Don't fall asleep too early"
"Why?" I asked.
"I'm taking yeh out, to show yeh off. So get prettier than yeh already are and I'll pick the up later" He smiled warmly and it felt like my stomach was filled with the butterflies the authors of the young adult books I'd read were constantly talking about.
"I will" I nodded, looking up at him.
"Good. Don't miss me too much" His lips touched mine once more before he was gone from my vision.
I looked down at the key he'd handed me earlier. "I'll try not to" I whispered to myself, grabbing my suitcase as I walked to the elevator.
