"CAN'T FORGET THIS HUH?" ALEX TEASED as he held up my dress. I turned around and smiled, snatching it from his hands.

"No, otherwise we'd be sleeping outside not at the hotel" I shook my head, placing it over my head and down by body.

When we were standing on the dock again, the cold breeze welcomed us, reminding me that I still had a life to get back to, and couldn't just neglect it for the rest of time as I remained at the lake with Alex.

He didn't completely put on his shirt as some buttons were left undone and gave me a peak of his chest. His blazer draped over his arm.

"Can you zip me up, please? I drew my hair to the side as he approached my body. The dress's zipper went up immediately and I turned around to meet his gleaming smile.

"Here, it's cold" Alex said in a low voice, handing me his blazer. I put it on, admiring the expensive taste that came with it. That cologne that he always wore.

"Come on. I'm taking you back to the room. You need a good night's rest" He positioned his arm around my shoulder as we both strolled through the night; half wet from the water, but content with what had happened.

"Hey, Al. Tomorrow's your birthday" I gazed up at him. He pursed his lips at my sudden remark. I looked down at my watch as midnight slowly creeped in. "In a few minutes, actually, wow"

"Don't make a big deal out of it. Birthdays become less and less long-awaited-for since the moment you turn 30" He shook his head with a little smile.

"Oh don't say that. This year has been very successful for you because of all the accomplishments. And you're surrounded by millions of people that love you and you're healthy-"

"And I have a drop-dead gorgeous girl by my side" He intercepted me, squeezing my hand tightly in his.

"How dare I forget that?" I rolled my eyes teasingly. We both chuckled softly. And as our laughter died down, I stared back into his eyes.

"But seriously. Tomorrow should be a happy day for you. Don't take these days for granted. We'll do something you like and you'll enjoy it. I just want to see you happy, especially on such an important day" I poked his side as his shoulders shrugged.

"Actually, I wasn't planning to go all 'go big or go home' as I would've done before. All I want tomorrow is to go visit my parents. I haven't seen them in a while"

I nodded understandingly, but he seemed to be waiting for more. I stared back up at his eyes as they looked notoriously doubtful.

"And I don't want to spellbind you, but I would like it very much if you accompanied me" He said in an interrogative tone.
