You watch Robin pull Steve off down the parking lot. When he came up the hill to stop Jason you were relieved. Now you watched as Jason paced in front of you, the principal saw Jason and walked right by us. That is the power the Carvers had on this school. That was why Mattie told you to just ignore her. This is why she was so scared. This is why she was so worried. You were tired of it, tired of being a freak and a loser.
"Just piss off Jason. I have nothing to explain or stop when it comes to your sister." I spat at his feet.
Jason looked at you, his chest heaved up and the look in his eyes was so strong, "What did you just say to me? Huh, Freak?"
"I said, PISS OFF!" I pushed forward, Jason's fist connected with my stomach, and I doubled over, he pushed me back into the tree. I grabbed him and tackled him to the ground. He was athletic, but he didn't know how to fight. Eddie and I wrestled all the time, we even got into some bar fights.
Jason looked up at you, I moved my hair back out of my face and smirked, "Leave me alone."
"Leave her alone!" Jason went to get up and I pushed him back into the dirt. I wasn't scared of him; I wasn't worried I would hurt him. I was never someone who lost control, I was reliable Gareth.
"Gareth!" Dustin came round the corner as I stood up, I offered my hand to help Jason and he hit it away as he slowly got to his feet. His eyes glared at me, "Tell that freak leader of yours that he just needs to wait, Elenor belongs to me."
"Ellie doesn't belong to anyone, she is a person! The same goes for Mattie, get that through your tiny brain!" I balled my fists up ready to go another round. Why did it irritate me so much to hear him talk.
"Gareth..." Dustin's voice came in calmly, "Leave it. Mattie already got on the bus. We should go back and check on Ellie."
I looked down at the small boy and sighed, rubbing my face and nodded. Suzie was off to the side, she looked concerned, but there was pride in the way she looked at you. Was she happy I stood up for her cousin?
Jason stormed off and Andy came out of nowhere. I glared at him and wondered what was going through his mind, he was all over Mattie, Jason didn't warn him away. Dustin then nudged your arm towards the parking lot, making your way to Ellie's car.
"Do you think Ellie is okay?" Suzie asked, "She should be up and about when we get home."
"Let's just hope she is decent this time. The two of them have been alone for hours, I am sure there has been a lot for them to .... accomplish during the day." Suzie looks at you and a slight blush hits her cheeks. You made a mental note to knock loudly once you get back.
Steve Harrington. Your mind goes back to Jason, warning him too. I wonder what he thought of Mattie. Your chest tightened thinking about her, how she pushed you away, how she was probably walking into a situation with her family you could only have nightmares over.
