Somin, Junu and Teho

Somin nervously brushed her short hair and started putting all of her work on the floor trying Junu's tactic to stay silent.

He got away with it, why not me?

She smoothed her blue dress decorated with small yellow birds and tugged slightly on her white collar, close to her neck, excitedly.

Her format choices were tiny in comparison to Junus'. A few A2 formats, but many smaller A3 ones. It was nice to have lots of space while painting, but she preferred to not get lost in the paper and uncomfortable poses. Sometimes going smaller was the smart choice.

Teho leaned forward and turned his head to see better. I had to know what she was doing that day.

"Why so gloomy Ms. Lee?" Mr. Ha. looked closely at her.

Other girls frowned at her dark pictures. Too dark, not a gleeful nature like everyone had, overflowing with colors and positivity nor the pretentiously depressive as the second spectrum of it demanded.

"Dull," someone whispered and the comment quickly got under Somin's skin.

I knew they would hate it. She thought full of self-loathing.

"I was feeling under the weather that day," she trod carefully.

That's an understatement. The shy girl snickered inside.

"Care to share your thoughts as a senior classmate Mr. Kim?" Mr. Ha turned his head to Teho.

"Actually yes," the Raven-haired boy answered enthusiastically. To seem more professional, he grabbed the hem of his jacket and slightly flipped his hair.

A gentle 'awww' sounded throughout the room. Somin's palms sweat and heat went to her cheeks as he kept looking at her, having a blast, clearly pleased.

Are you blushing because of me? He smiled.

"Ms. Lee..." he was enunciating very slowly, "...can you describe why you chose this color scheme in particular?"

Well, that's just great, lemme expose my inner demons to everybody. Yay! Somin frown.

"I felt darker colors were more expressive in conveying the loneliness of the old trees covered in mist. More lively colors would hurt the atmosphere and I wanted to catch the moment of stillness in time, the slow preparation for another winter which was so tangible in the forest as I painted there alone."

You aren't giving it to me for free, Teho.

"Interesting," the look he gave spoke volume.

"Would you say that you find solace in solitude? Maybe even peace of mind in it?" asked Teho.

I got you, you seemed sus enough. He thought.

"I find it quite appealing, yes," she answered, avoiding the secret question palpable in his words.
