Jisoo
Not here again.
I stifled a laugh when we were at the foot of the mountain. It's not the one on the campus area with the trail, nor those near our houses but in a more secluded area far from the residential area. Not a trek of 5 hours. I screamed in my head. Not the grandpa's blood again. He parked the car on a semi slope, hiding it from passersby.
"It will take us more than 5 hours to go up and another 5 to go down." It was almost a snarl from me when I heard it. He grabbed me on my waist grinning.
"Less than half an hour we'll be on top." He whispered confidently.
"Huh?" And even before I could even ask another question, he pulled me close, and we disappeared into thin air.
We were moving too fast passing trees, jumping from one cliff after another. I clinged my arms in his neck as we went up. He momentarily stops, controlling his laugh.
"Too fast?" Now he is teasing me. Yeah. He is showing me now what he can do.
"You could have given me a heads up." I answered angrily.
I looked at the scenic route of the mountain. This was a different side, away from the city view. If the city view is beautiful, this one is undescribable. Beyond beautiful. He hugged me tighter. "You like it? We aren't even halfway."
"Do we really have to climb mountains for you to show me this?" I asked, though honestly, I love the view that's slowly unfolding in my eyes.
"You won't want people in Seoul to freak out if I do this on front of everyone, right?"
Oh yeah. How dumb I am.
"So, this is one of them. Moving fast." I asked, still clinging to him.
"Move too fast, yeah." I don't know if my heart raced fast too. "We will keep on going, are you okay now?" I nodded.
And in a snap, we are moving again. So damn fast. And just how quickly his movements are, my eyes caught up with all the amazing views. The forest animals, the mini falls, small pools of flowers, natural caves, small ponds. I let out almost unlimited gasps on every amazing spot I saw. We stopped by on a cliff, and I turned around as he instructed.
He gave me his necklace again, just like that day with the cherry blossoms. He pursed his lips on my temple.
"Do you see that?" I nodded. Lily of the Valley.
And seeing it with my own eyes, Lily of the Valley bloomed slowly. A lot of them.
The field was filled with Lily of the Valley.
"So freaking lovely." I don't know how many times I gasped or sucked my breath. I've seen the cherry blossoms on my birthday and expected his elf power, but the feelings are still different.
