             Conn

Elin was gone! Conn hadn't seen him in three days. All of his stuff was still sitting in piles on the couch, but his back pack wasnt anywhere to be found.

"I drove him away". Conn murmered, for the tenth time, as he tried to focus on his computer screen.

The day was going by slow. He couldnt help but constantly look at his phone in hope's that Elin would text, or maybe even call.

But still nothing.

That is until an unknown text ID popped up.

This Conn Pros?

It obviously wasnt Elin, but Conn still felt propelled to answer.

The one and only.

You know Elin?

He felt his heart jump.

Yes. Do you know where he is?

There was a brief pause in the conversation. For a moment Conn wasnt sure if theyd respond.

I'll send you an address.

A few seconds later a link popped up on his google maps.

This better be ideal. He thought.

-----------------

Conn wasnt one to speed, but his timing was cut short by a good ten minutes.
The address took him too a less crowded, more sketchy part of town.

He parked his truck and hopped out.

He found his destination within moments of glancing around; thanks to a girl. At first she didnt seem to notice his approach, but then she suddenly turned on him.

"Conn Pros?"

He stopped, "The one and only".

Her eyes studied his face for a long time before she finally reached a decision. "Elin's inside".

Conn pointed to the warehouse, "He's in there?"

"Yeah".

Conn couldnt help but be a little skeptical about all of this. He felt like if he went inside he wouldnt be coming back out.

"Alright".

He moved for the door, but the girl stepped in his path. She was a good head or two shorter, but her gaze was intense.

Conn really didnt want to get on her badside, he decided then and there.

"He doesnt know I contacted you".

"How did you get my number then?" He asked, puzzled.

"Found a card with your name on it. I figured you guys had some sort of connection".

"He's been staying with me".

After hearing that her shoulders seemed to relax a little. In a softer tone she said, "His hearings a mess. Dont talk too loud".

"Wha-Why?"

"He might scream at you". She went on, not answering his earlier question. "Dont take it personal".

"Anything else?"

She shrugged, "Nope, that's it".

"Your close with Elin?" Conn was curious. Elin, not once, had mentioned anything about friends.

"Not really. We work together".

Is this where Elin works? He wondered. The warehouse looked like a shithole.
