EIGHTEEN

I defiantly stuck out like a sore thumb. Even in the suit Sherra had brought for me. I felt tiny compared to all the rich humbo's strolling around.
It didnt help at all that the Yourin hotel was just as glamorous as I'd heard it to be.

The lobby was rich with creme and red carpeting and woodworking walls, and a glittering chandelier.

It was warm yet everything held a sort of pricey gleam. I bet that everything in this room cost more than myself. It was outrageous!

But I found myself gawking anyways.

"Your jaw might not close if you keep it open like that". Conn teased. He bumped into my shoulder and smirked.

I clamped my mouth shut and glared at this over sized child. He was sporting a nice black and white suite. Casual. But Conn looked good in Casual things.
His hair was combed back with some sort of shiny gel. It glowed beneath the chandelier light.

He looked older.

"Leave the poor boy alone Conn". Sherra said from behind me. "Why dont you head off to the conference hall". She shooed him away.

Conn shot her an agitated look before he did as she told.

"That boy gets so worked up over these things". Dan chuckled.

Dan and Sherra were both dressed up nicely. Dan in a burgundy suite that looked like it came from the 70s. Probably did.
And Sherra in a slim fitting silver dress. It too glimmered under the lighting.

Sherra gave me a warm smile that tugged uncomfortably at my chest. "Why dont you look around hon? I've heard this place has a fancy gaming room".

I really didnt want to be alone in such a fancy place. I mean what if the staff kicked me out or something.

Dont be stupid Elin! I mentally scolded myself.

I was in a suite. My hair was nice and brushed out. I looked like I belonged.

"The speech starts in a half hour". Dan said.

I nodded and walked off.

-------------

I was completely lost.

The Yourin Hotel was like one giant freakin maze. It went on forever. I turned a corner and another hall stretched on and on.
It was a bit creepy.

I sighed and raked my fingers through my hair.

I had been walking for nearly ten minutes now. At first I tried looking for that gaming room, but it had come off as a nearly impossible task to find.

Now I was strolling down empty hallways.

I'm going to die in this place. I thought bitterly.

Nah, if I didnt show for Conn's speech he'd probably hire the US army to track me down.

Which meant I was stuck roaming for another fourty minutes.

I finally took a moment to rest. Walking can be really tiresome y'know.
I slumped against the golden walls and cocked my head back.

This is boring.

My legs eventually gave out and I slid to the floor. I knocked the back of my head against the walls and groaned loudly.

Why dont these places have maps?!

I stayed like that for a few minutes until I heard voices coming from around the corner.
I scrambled to my feet and glanced around the wall.
