I shouldn't be here. The thought was repeating over and over in my head as I watched Johny throw together a bed of blankets on his floor.

"This should be fine, right?" He asked, tossing me a look.

I've slept in worse places.

I nodded.

"You can sleep on the couch if you want-"

"I'm fine in here".

Blondie's mum was setting up the Christmas gifts downstairs, and I didn't feel like bothering her.

Sleeping in Blondie's room (with him) would not kill me.

"Do you like the phone?" He asked.

It was way nicer then my last piece of junk so yeah. "Yeah".

"You better respond when I text you".

No promises.

After Blondie was done with the bed I thanked him then laid down. My eyes drooped shut and for a moment I fell into a half asleep state, but Blondie's voice brought me out of it.

"Did you have fun tonight?"

Despite how tired I was, I actually did. After Nick, Rachelle, and Blondie gave me the phone we spent a few minutes setting up the apps. Then Daniela called on facetime.

She was a bit upset that Rachelle didn't video tape me opening the gift, but all In all she was happy that I liked it.

Then, a bit reluctantly, I played one hand of cards just to please Conn.

So yeah. I did.

"Yeah".

"Good". He yawned.

I pulled a soft blue blanket over me and turned onto my side so that I was facing away from Blondie's bed.

"You ready to sleep?"

"Yeah".

There was a soft click followed by the lamp light turning off.

"Hay Elin?" Blondie whispered.

"Hmm".

"Merry Christmas".

It was somewhat of a long time before I responded. "Merry Christmas Blondie".

At around five in the morning my phone blinked on; waking me from whatever nightmere I had been stuck in. I rubbed away the tiredness in my eyes, and checked the notification bar.

There was nothing.

Just a stupid software update.

I clicked off the screen, and glanced over at the bed. To my suprise Blondie was wide awake and scrolling on his phone.

His eyes flickered in my direction before returning to his screen. "I couldn't sleep".

I yawned and brought my arms above my head for a stretch. It felt good after several hours of lying in a ball.

When I tried closing my eyes again I found it difficult to keep them that way. My body was restless. Plus the room was a little to cold. And the blanket bed was no longer comfortable.

I let out a frustrated sigh when I couldn't get myself to settle down.

"You okey?" Blondie asked.
