I hate this.
The suburban wasn't wide enough for us to sit comfortably apart. It was me, blondie, and Racheal jammed in the back.
Nick was the driver, and Daneila got shotgun because it was her mom's car.
My stomach was flip flopping with every bump we hit.I couldnt stand bieng in such a tight space. Although, no one was physically trying to touch me I could still feel my skin crawl everytime blondie or Racheal brushed up against me. Since I was in the middle there was no avoiding it.
"So this guy...Jae Ventis. How rich is he?" Blondie asked me.
"He's a CEO at his uncle's company." I grunted. The mere mention of Jae had my head hurting. "He's a billionaire".
"Wow". Blondie cat whistled. "That's some big money waiting for us".
"How are we doing this again?" Racheal asked.
"Climb the fire escape. His apartment is on the third floor. The first window is always unlocked. Climb in. Get the stuff, but" I held up my finger, "He has a camera over the front door. Keep to the walls. Got it?"
They all nodded, even Blondie.
"So your not coming in with us?" Daniela questioned.
"He's on crutches D". Blondie said in my stead. "Of course he's not coming".
Even if I wasn't on crutches I dont think I'd want to go inside.
"How do you know this guy anyways?" Blondie asked looking at me.
"The guy I'm staying with knows him." I lied. They all bought it.
The run down section of the city was soon replaced with the fancy apartment complexes, and tall skyscrapers the closer we got to downtown.
I watched in silence as the city blurred by. Even though it was night, the streets were still semi crowded.
"How long is this going to take?" I asked.
"Depends on how much we find". Nick spoke up for the first time.
The vehicle turned off onto the street Jae's complex was on.
My stomach twisted with anticipation. I was thrilled about this plan, but also very very worried. Who knows what Jae would do if he caught Nick and the others.
"This it?" Nick pointed to the apartment complex.
"Yeah".
He slowed down and turned into a nearby alley.Everyone got out except for me.
"Hang tight". Daniela said before she slammed her door.
"Dont screw up". Blondie snapped.
I rolled my eyes.
How the hell could I screw up if I wasn't even doing anything?
I was literally tasked with keeping an eye out for Jae. But he wouldnt be back for another hour or two.
I watched as the four walked around the alley's entrance.
I set a timer on my phone and sat back for the wait.
----------------
The timer was at its twenty minute mark when a black Audi pulled up to the curb. It idled for a moment before the back door opened and Jae fucking Ventis climbed out.
