I guess that while I was taking my little nap Nick and the others had gone ahead and made plans.

So the first thing I heard from Nick when I woke up was; "How do you feel about ice skating?"

--------------------

The indoor skating rink was huge. Bigger then the bumper car arena. Thankfully it wasn't very packed.

Not that I would be skating or anything.

I guess my slight state of bieng handicap had slipped Daniela's mind when she proposed ice skating.

I took a seat at one of the watcher benches while everyone left to get their skates.

Blondie was the first to come back. He plopped down next to me and got to work on taking off his boots. At first he totally ignored my presence then after a minute he arched his head and peered over at me.

"To bad you cant skate". He implied, "I was really looking forward to smoking your ass".

I rolled my eyes.

His mock tone was somewhat nicer when he asked. "Are you good on the ice?"

I've never been skating so I wouldn't know. "Probably not".

He pulled on his rental skates then tied the laces.
"Maybe when your feet are better I can show you a few helpful techniques".

I blinked at him. Was he bieng nice to me?

It was defiantly weirder then Nick's conversation with me the other night.

"Ugh..yeah maybe". I replied.

He hopped to his feet then jumped from one foot to the other. He gave me a cheeky grin. "Although I cant promise that I wont try to shove you over once or twice".

Looks like he's got a five second reset for his snark personality.

He walked away just as Daniela bounded over. "I'm sorry that I forgot about your feet".

This was only the twentieth time that she had apologized.

I waved her off. "It's fine Daniela. I probably wouldnt have skated even if my feet were fine".

She sat down cross leg infront of me.
She hummed in response then got to work on her skates.

I moved my attention towards the rink just as Blondie sped by. I was a bit suprised. All that talk earlier was true. He was fast.

Daniela noticed me watching him. She said. "Johny used to be on the school's hockey team".

"Used to?"

"Yeah". She bobbed her head, "Then he dropped out of school".

"Why?"

She shrugged. "The usual. Money issues. Family issues. I guess he thought it was his job to get money for his family after his dad bailed".

"His dad left?"

She made a cutting motion across her wrist. "Eternally".

Oh.

Daniela was quet for a moment before she said. "Actually, Racheal, and I are drop outs too".

Maybe I wont have such a hard time fitting in with these guys after all.
