I made why way to the March house with a basket full of apples. Today was a stressful day for most girls and Marmee had five of them, including myself. So I thought bringing her some apples would cheer her up. Maybe she could bake a pie to release the stress. I knocked on the door and waited for someone to answer. What seemed like ten minutes passed by and someone finally opened it. It was father March and he looked tired.
"Oh my. Are you sick too?" I asked.
He shook his head. "No, I am just tired. Marmee woke everyone up at sunrise to get everything ready. I must want you, she is running around like a chicken with her head cut off and the girls are grumpy."
I smiled. "And Laurie? Is he feeling well?"
He nodded. "He was just up and out of the bed. Your soup must've helped him a lot."
He let me into the house and closed the door while I took off my shoes. I went into the kitchen to see everyone at the table and Marmee cooking. Every time I was around she was either cooking or yelling at one of the girls. I smiled and placed the basket of apples down.
"Oh! Apples!" Amy exclaimed and took one from the basket. That had got everyone's attention and they looked at me. I just gave everyone a smile.
"I brought some apples for Marmee because I know how stressful today is, but I made sure to get extra for everyone else." Marmee turned from the stove and smiled at me.
"Thank you dear. Take a seat. We have some things to talk about."
I took my seat between Amy and Meg, greeting them all with a smile. I then looked at Laurie who seemed to be perfectly fine. Maybe my mother's soup was some sort of magic. If so, I could open up a soup shop. I shook my head at the thought. I felt something hit the top of my dress, causing me to get out of my thoughts. It was the stem to an apple. I looked up and seen Laurie smiling. Of course he did it.
"Don't you look better today, delivery boy?" I smiled.
"Thanks to your magical soup of course. I feel like a new man."
I laughed. "You are far from a man, but you can keep dreaming."
Everyone snickered while Laurie rolled his eyes playfully. Everyone talked while we waited for the food to be done.
"So, I heard Alex walked you home last night." Amy whispered.
"How did you figure that out?"
She smiled. "He told me. I went to get more bread and he had this huge smile on his face. It seemed to make him happy and if I am not mistaken, you look awfully happy yourself."
"You are too observant."
She laughed a bit and sat back into her chair. I had bet she planned that the whole time and for whatever reason, I didn't mind it. Alex was a wonderful guy and I hoped to get to know him more tonight. Although, I learned a lot about him last night. He also loved art, so I had asked him to draw me. I did a pose and he drew me in the exact pose. He was good at almost everything I brought up. He didn't just say it, he made sure to show me he could do it all. It was most likely to show off, but he did a wonderful job in doing so.
