"Mother! Where are my black shoes!?" Lincoln yelled from the hallway.

"Try beside the door! That is where they're supposed to be!" I yelled back.

"But they aren't there!"

"Then try your room!"

I heard him rush upstairs while I fixed some eggs. I placed them on different plates and put them on the table. I picked up the bell I had gotten and rang it. It was for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It seemed easier than yelling around the house. Even though we do it everyday anyway.

I could hear everyone begin to fill the kitchen, Lincoln being the last to arrive. I looked at his feet and he had his shoes on. "Now, what did I tell you about wearing your shoes up to your room?"

"I am sorry. Sometimes I forget I even have shoes on." He said as he fixed himself in his chair.

I smiled. "You better start remembering. We leave soon and that will be one rule I expect you to follow."

He nodded and dug into his eggs. I smiled as I took my seat beside Annemarie and took the spoon she had and replaced it with a fork. Her eyes lit up when she finally got an egg and placed it into her mouth. Ashton was just enjoying his food like any normal kid would.

"So, when you are going out with Laurie?" Ellie asked as she took a bite of her eggs.

"Around noon. I have chores here and then I need to help Marmee water the garden again. She would end up forgetting with the amount of things she has to do."

"That is wonderful. What do you guys plan on doing?"

I looked around the table as they all stare at me, waiting for an answer. "Why do you guys want to know about Laurie so much? We are just spending some time together since I am leaving soon."

"We just like to know. That is all."

I glared at them and shrugged, taking a bite of my eggs. "I assume we are going to a picnic. Today is beautiful day to do so."

Father looked out of the window. "We haven't seen this good weather in a while. I am happy winter is over. No more working in the cold."

I smiled. "No more hot chocolate though."

"Why is that? I think hot chocolate should be an everyday thing." Lincoln suggested.

"I suppose you're right. Hot chocolate should be something we drink every season. Even when it is hot outside."

Lincoln nodded. "I am pretty smart, aren't I?"

"I am smarter." Ashton said.

"You wish you was smarter. I have not seen you read one book since we have began to stay here. Mother has also offered to take you to the library and you're always doing something different."
