Two weeks before Paris
"Lincoln! Come here! You need a haircut!" I yelled as I chased him down the hallway.
"I will not allow you to cut off my amazing golden hair! I won't allow it!" He yelled back before slamming a door closed.
I groaned when I arrived at the front door. "But you have to! You get to meet Mary today!"
"As much as I am excited for that, I will not allow you to cut my hair. She won't mind how long it has grown."
I sighed. "I suppose you are right, but when we get to Paris, it if getting cut!"
I heard him groan and open the door. "Only because you are my mother and I love you dearly."
I rolled my eyes and smiled as I messed with his hair. "Hey!" He yelled and pointed at me before shutting the door back. I laughed as I began to walk away. "It is not funny! I just fixed my hair!" He yelled from the room.
I laughed louder and made my way into the kitchen with Father, Ellie, Annemarie, Alex, and Ashton. "Do you really need all of those suitcases? You're going to break the carriage on the way to the train." Ellie asked Alex.
I laughed when I seen the suitcases lined along the wall. "You are packing more than me and I am a girl."
"Okay okay. I will go through them and get the things I really need. Will that make you guys stop making fun of me?" He stood up from his chair.
I shrugged. "Probably not but it may help."
He rolled his eyes and grabbed a few suitcases before heading up the stairs. We laughed and went about the rest of our morning. I made sure Ashton and Annemarie were dressed before dressing myself. I wasn't really sure how to dress when I had been around Mary a lot lately. I already had gotten comfortable with her around. The kids haven't really had a one on one with her which is why we are going out to spend some time with her. I knew she was excited to meet the kids which was why I wasn't stressing as much.
I fixed Ashton's tie while helping Annemarie with her dress. She looked so cute when she was all dressed up, they all did. I looked at them as they all waited to leave. Lincoln was reading a new book I had given him while Ashton played with his wooden sword. Annemarie just watched them both as they sat on the couch. I grabbed my shoes and out them on. "You are in a hurry." My father said as he watched me struggle to get my shoes on.
"I am just making sure I am not late. That would be the worst way to start out a meeting."
He smiled. "She's going to love them. She loves you already."
"That is because she has talked to me more." I looked at the kids and back at my father who stood in front of me. "I know Lincoln will ask many questions. He loves her books. It's just Ashton is going to be confused and Annemarie is going to be oblivious to it all."
