Dear Laurie,

I have been doing well since my arrival to Paris. I got the kids into a school and they love it, you were right. I also have been thinking about getting a dog soon. Everything is going good and I think they would really enjoy a dog. I had Mary look around for while I worked on my book.

I wish I have heard from you. It's been a while since you've wrote back to me and I was wondering if everything was alright. My first thought was that you moved, but it seemed silly. It seems like everyone back home is too busy to write back. I have received a letter from Jo. She went to New York? That is great for her. I am glad she is also getting out of the small town. But what about you? As much as I hate to admit it, I miss you. I miss you more than words can explain.

I wonder if you ever miss me like I miss you. It seems silly in a way, but it is just a thought. I then begin to worry if you've found someone else. Someone who makes you feel better than I ever made you feel. Even though I haven't been honest with my feelings for you, I still would be heart broken. But I would understand and be happy for you. Your happiness is all I wanted. Just a simple smile from you would make things alright. Now that I don't see it everyday, I am not sure what to do.

I would like to say that my book is coming along well. I think you all would enjoy it once it is published. After realizing the one I did with Mary, many people had asked for another one. Mary had insisted I do one on my own before helping her do another book.

I truly can't believe it's been seven years already. Seven years and here I am, hoping you'll still get my letters and write back. I miss you all so much, but I know life always gets the best of us. I do hope you're doing well.

Sincerely,
Rudolph

I looked down at the paper and shook my head, crumbling it up. I threw it into the small bin full of other old letters. I sat back into my office chair and sighed out loud. I stood up from the chair and began walking around the paper balls around the room. I looked in the mirror and seen the dark circles under my eyes. I hadn't gotten a lot of sleep lately due to the kids and me working. Mary had gotten me someone to help around with cooking and stuff and I was extremely grateful for that.

I put on my shoes and walked down the stairs. I seen one of the maids and smiled. "Hello Eloise. Thank you for helping the kids this morning."

She waved it off and smiled. "No need to thank me. You look exhausted."

"I feel exhausted."

She smiled. "You want some tea? Mary left some over when she left."

I shook my head. "I am alright. I may take a walk if you don't mind."

"I don't mind. Will you return before the kids arrive from school?"

I nodded. "But of course. Mary has a surprise when's he gets back and I wouldn't miss it for the world."
