"Summer! We finished!" I hear Violet yell to me so I walk over to them and observe the invention.
"Uh what is it?" I ask
"There shoes that dig into the ice so you can climb the ice." Quigley explains
"All we have to do is test it." Violet says grabbing a slightly brunt piece of wood and stabbed the shoe into it and pushed down to make sure it would hold.
"Ok. Whose going up?" Klaus asked putting the Code book down, not the Odes book
"I'm a pretty good climber so I'll go." I volunteer
"Are you sure Summer? You have already risked a lot for us." Violet said I nod and hand her my shoes
"I'm sure." I say
"I'll go too." Quigley steps up
"You sure? You could barely climb the ladder!" I joked
"I'm sure." He says and hands his shoes to Violet.
Once we have our shoes back we head over to the water fall.
"You ready?" Quigley asked looking over at me
"No...but, if we wait until we're ready we'll be waiting the rest of our life." I say and turn to him then start to climb
Once we are about half way, I look behind me to see if Quigley was far behind and just as I did he slipped.
"Gotcha!" I say and grab him
"Thanks." He says
"I see a ledge just up there, we can rest." I point out and we climb up to it. When we get to the ledge I pull Quigley up and we sit there and I look out at the view.
"Even though it's a secret place, it has a beautiful view." I say gazing out at the forest.
"Beautiful indeed." Quigley says softly but when I look over at him he is staring at me not the view.
"We...uh we should get going." I say to break the awkward silence
"Uh oh yeah." Quigley says snapping out of what ever trance he was in.
I sigh "If you celebrate halfway, then the end won't be as fun." I say
"My sister wrote that." Quigley says softly as his expression changes
"Who did you think I learned it from!" I smirked
When we get to the top I spot Sunny in a bird cage.
"Really again? Lay off the bird cages!" I think to myself as I remember the Baudelaire's telling me that Sunny was trapped in a bird cage there first encounter with Olaf.
"She's here, let's go!" I whisper to Quigley and we sneak up to the cage.
"Sunny!" I whisper shout to her when I reach her.
"Summer!" She squeals in delight
"Duncan?" She asked pointing to Quigley
"No, this is his triplet brother Quigley. Violet and Klaus sent us to get you." I whisper back as I pull a hair pin from my pocket and pick the lock.
"No." Sunny pouts
"What? You have to come!" I insist as I open the door
"No." Sunny says crossing her arms
"You have to, Violet and Klaus will kill me if I don't bring you back, you're their baby sister." I say to her pleading
"I not a baby." She pouts, arms still crossed and turning her head
"We can't stay here forever!" Quigley whisper shouts to me from his look out spot
"Matahari." She says
"You can't stay and spy!" I exclaimed THATS when I heard voices coming towards us
"Hide." Sunny says and I grab Quigley by the arm and we hide behind a bolder
(Hello peeps I'm to lazy to write what Olaf said to Sunny and you probably don't want to read that so skip!)
"Sunny, you can stay and spy but be safe." I say with worry in my eyes
"How will she get out?" Quigley asked
Sunny takes a string from her clothes and ties her hair up like Violet does.
"Take this pin to pick the lock." I say handing her the pin and we turn to leave as Sunny takes the pin.
"Let's go before he comes back!" Quigley grabs me and pulls me to the waterfall, I snap out of the trance I was in and follow him and we descended down the waterfall. When we get back Violet and Klaus rush up to us.
"Where's Sunny?" Violet asked panicked
"She wanted to stay!" I explained
"She wanted? She's our baby sister!" Klaus exclaimed
"She's not a baby anymore!" I argue
"She insisted on staying." Quigley adds but they just ignore him
"Why did you let her stay? She's just a toddler she can't insist to stay!" Violet says rather loudly
"She didn't just insist she volunteered!" I said holding my ground fists clenched
"What if your siblings were up there!" Klaus screamed at me. I step back, fists unclenched, face softened, tears fill my eyes.
"I would do anything for my siblings! But there not here are they!" I scream angrily as tears fall down my face
"No! Summer I didn't mean it!" Klaus called after me but by then I was gone, to far away for him to grab me. I sat at the edge of the burnt building, knees to my chest sobbing quietly.
( I usually don't do this but I need to do this.)
Quigley POV
"Summer has siblings?" I ask confused on what just happened
"She did..." Violet trails off
"They died in a fire that destroyed her house, she blames herself since she could have saved them, according to her." Klaus says looking down
"What were there names?" I ask
"Dylan and Winter, Dylan was the youngest Winter was her twin." Violet says
"That's why she used Winter as her cover name." I piece together
"I'm going to check on her." Klaus says, by the tone of his voice I can tell he didn't mean to upset her and feels bad about it.
Summer POV
I hear foot steps coming towards me and wipe my tears from my cheeks to turn and see who it is only to find Klaus standing there.
