Chapter 21

I wake up and I hear shouting outside they are saying "Count Olaf has been murdered!"
"NO!" I cry out then fall the floor and cry knowing Olivia's plan didn't work.
Hours pass and I am still in jail when the Baudelaire's are brought in and put in jail with me!
"What are you doing here?!" I ask
"We were framed for murdering Jacques." Klaus explains
"I'm sorry." Violet says
"It's fine I just....." I can't finish
"Hector!" Sunny says
"Hector your here!" Violet says
"Yes and I am here to say goodbye to all of you. If you manage to get out come to the barn and we can escape together!" He says
"Your not going to help us?" I ask surprised that our guardian won't help us out of jail!
"Oh and I found these under the Nevermore tree and I thought might want them." He says and hands me 2 more couplets
"What do we do?" I ask
"Well I have another couplet here." Klaus says and pulled out one
"I have the one we found first." Violet said
I close my eyes.
"Summer, you ok?" Klaus asked
"SHHH she's thinking!" Violet says
"Klaus, have you read anything on jail?" I ask my eyes still closed
"I um oh."
"What?" I ask opening my eyes
"I just remembered that well it's my birthday." He says
"Oh my gosh I am so sorry I forgot!" Violet says
"No it's fine I forgot too." He says
"This gives me an idea." Violet says as she puts her hair up with her ribbon.
"Sunny chew this rope into one long one."
"Okie dokie!"
"Klaus get off the bench and move it to the middle of the cell."
"Ok..."
"Summer, get the bread and hit the wall with it to test how stale it is."
"Got it!" I say and hit it and it is rock solid
"Ok good. Sunny do you have the rope?"
"Yep! Here."
Violet grabs the rope and starts to make something, when she is done we see that she made a hanging mallet.
"Ok. Summer you decode the couplets for clues. Klaus help me swing this into the wall when I say to. Sunny you watch for Olaf." Violet says and we all get to work. They start saying Happy Birthday HEY then hit the wall while I decipher the couplets.
"Summer you good?" Klaus asked
"Yeah why?" I ask confused
"Well your smiling, and your in jail." Violet says
"Oh I am? Well that's because I might know where the Quagmires are. You see at first we thought that it would say it directly in the couplets, but Isadora thought that is might get intercepted so she hid her location." I say
"Where did she hide it then?" Klaus asked
"In the first letters of the sentences. See,
F O U N T A I N." I say
"Your brilliant Summer!" Violet says
"No, Isadora's brilliant!" I say
"The fountain should be right behind this wall so let's keep smashing." Klaus says
After 10 minutes of smashing the wall we make a hole and run to the fountain and look for a way in or a door.
"Isadora said 'sad beak' so maybe the beak has something to do with it?" I suggest so Klaus and Violet hold Sunny up and she looks in the beak when Violet slips and Sunny is about to fall.
