"Come on under the fish!" I shout over the crowd
We are under a fish and are heading back to the penthouse.
"Ok we are here." Violet says
"We got here under a fish from a cafe named after an illness and we have a riddle to solve but I have a plan." I say
"What is it?" Klaus asked
"We don't have much time until they realize that we aren't there so. Violet, you will look around for something to invent that could help us, Sunny you go with her. Klaus, you keep watch for Esme. I will decipher the riddle." I say and we put the plan into action
"What should I look for?" Violet asked
"Anything that you could use to invent something." I tell her and she walks of with Sunny.
"Right outside your door is a button for joy"
"Hmm. There are elevator buttons but there are 2 of them. Right outside you door....." I say
"RIGHT!" I shout startling Klaus
"Why did you yell?!" Klaus asked me wondering why I screamed 'Right!'
"Sorry" I say sheepishly and Klaus turns back around to keep watch.
"Ok so the right elevator button is the button for joy." I say pacing back and forth from one elevator door to the other with my notebook out looking at the riddle, when I reach the right elevator doors I make sure no one is watching, not even Klaus then I press the button to the elevator and the door opens but there isn't an elevator car just an empty shaft,
I stand there not sure what to do after I just see a empty shaft at least 20 feet deep, so I just close it and I walk away not wanting to cause any suspicion.
"Klaus, go tell Violet to invent something to float down like a parachute." I say and Klaus leaves to go tell Violet, so I work on the next line.
"Next line. When you fall you see locked up joy. So we have to go down the elevator and something will be locked." I say
"There must be a key but it doesn't say anything about it that I can tell." I say to myself. I look at the riddle to see if I missed anything but I just see 'but don't have worry keep you chin up to find the key' but I don't think much of it thinking it means the key is somewhere at the bottom.
"VIOLET, KLAUS, SUNNY I DECIPHERED THE RIDDLE!" I shout and they all come out with stuff in there hands
"What do we have to do?" Violet asked
"We need to go down the elevator." I say
"Really? Just that?" Klaus asked
"Yep."
"Then why do we need to make a parachute?" Violet asked holding up supplies to make one
"It's never that simple." Klaus says knowing there's a catch
"That's what I thought but I don't think there is for this, due to the fact that no one would ever check here." I say and head over to the elevator.
"Well this is why." I say pressing the button and the doors opened and there was no elevator just a shaft.
"Why do our guardians have just a shaft outside there door?" Violet asked in a worried tone.
"Why do Esme's initials spell E.G.G.S?" I mention and they look at me wondering why the heck I brought that up right now, and honestly I don't why I did either.
"It's true!" Sunny says in a matter of fact tone.
"Ok that is weird but this is weirder." Klaus adds motioning towards the empty shaft.
