Billy was not back in the morning like he had promised. You kept busy by doing chores around the house. You put on some music and lit a joint. You reached a nice high and put it out.

You danced around to the music. Picking up Billy's beer cans and tossing them in the trash. You picked up the dirty clothes from the floor and carried them to the washer.

You emptied the pockets of Billy's jeans. Some change fell out, a ten dollar bill, and a little note. A phone number and 'Call me, Molly' signed with a little heart. Lovely. You rolled your eyes.

You couldn't even be mad at this point but it hurt your feelings. Maybe Billy did love you, he just didn't know how to love correctly. You know you loved him and still managed to fall for Eddie. When Billy fucked around on you it was purely for sex or his ego, but you had feelings for Eddie. You honestly weren't sure which was worse.

It was very late when Billy finally showed. His knocking woke you up. You walked to the door and looked out, seeing him standing there smoking you unlocked the door. He was in his tight jeans and leather jacket, his shirt unbuttoned.

You could smell the alcohol on him from here. "Hey baby," he said leaning in to kiss you. You turned your head at the last second and his kiss landed on your cheek. He didn't like that. "Oh, come on," he groaned, "what did I do now?"

"Nothing, Billy. I'm just tired." You said turning to head back to bed. You heard the door slam behind you. He followed you into the room. "Look I'm sorry I'm late, okay?" He said as you climbed into bed.

"It's fine." You said closing your eyes. "Y/n, what the fuck is going on with you?" He said sitting on the bed. "Nothing, I'm just tired." You rolled over and faced the wall. "I didn't plan on being gone that long, one thing led to another and I just had a few drinks with the guys.." he explained. You said nothing.

"Baby, please look at me." He said softly. You rolled over and glanced at him. "You're telling me I show up drunk at 3 am and you don't give a shit?" He continued. "You're grown Billy, you can do what you want." You said blankly.

"Fuck." He responded. He stood up suddenly and started pacing. He lit a cigarette. "What are you doing?" You said as you sat up in bed. "I've lost you, haven't I?" He said pausing to look at you. "What are you talking about?" You mumbled.

"You didn't ask where I was or what I was doing or who I was with... you don't care." He said, his voice dropping at the end. "Do you want me to fight with you? I'm confused." You replied.

"Yes!," he said loudly. "Because if you're not fighting with me when I fuck up then you're not fighting for me... for us." He walked over and sat on the bed. He looked into your eyes. "Do you still love me, y/n?" You had never heard him sound so vulnerable.

You felt guilty because maybe he was right. You weren't fighting for him. You thought you were by telling Eddie to stay away but you could feel the distance between you and Billy. He was once your everything. Your relationship wasn't perfect but you were head over heels in love with him.

You wanted to be with him all the time. You craved him when he was away. You got jealous when you saw a girl flirting with him. You got mad when he didn't show up on time or if he didn't call when he said he would. All of a sudden you didn't have the energy to care about those things. You still loved him. That hadn't changed but all of this stuff with Eddie had your mind all kinds of fucked up. You were mentally drained.

Your eyes involuntarily filled with tears. You reached up and put your hand on Billy's cheek. "Yes, Billy. I still love you." You said softly. "Baby, what's going on? You can talk to me." He said in a soft tone. A tear rolled down your cheek.

He pulled you into his chest and kissed the top of your head. "I'm here, babe. I'm here." He said holding you tight. He was scared. Scared he was gonna lose you. Billy Hargrove loved you. Your previous doubts about that suddenly erased. He needed you. He was fighting for you.
