BILLY'S POV
Y/n said she couldn't come to California with you. You understood but this was going to be one of the hardest things you've ever had to do. You wanted her with you. She was a calm to your storm. She always had been. You were in your room packing up your suitcase when you heard her voice from the kitchen. "Eddie, I just want to talk." She sounded really upset.
You'd never seen her so sad before. This is my fault. I shouldn't have kissed her. She seemed happy enough with Eddie. You weren't sure what she saw in the guy but she fucking married him so she obviously loved him. You loved her too though. More than you've loved anyone.
You fucked up and you knew that. You weren't always the man you should have been to her. You cheated on her, you showed up late, you didn't show her how much you cared and then you did the worst thing possible. You told her you wanted nothing to do with her or your son. You were angry at the time, angry and hurt. Angry that she had chosen Eddie, hurt that she threw years away for a guy she just met.
It wasn't an excuse though. You weren't man enough to put that aside back then. But you weren't the same anymore. You spent 5 years regretting how you treated her. You hadn't dated anyone for longer than a month or two since y/n. You never stopped loving her. But Eddie got your happy ending. He was living in a nice house, married to the love of your life, raising your kid. Prick.
You walked into the hallway to listen. "Don't say that.." you heard her say. She was crying. "I don't know.. I don't know why I did it. I don't know how I feel, but I know that I love you. I do.. fuck Eddie." she continued. "I love you.. please." she was pleading with him. You could hear the pain in her voice. Fuck, I've got to fix this.
You grabbed your keys and quietly slipped out the door. You can do this. You lit a cigarette and started your car. She deserves to be happy. You put the car in drive and headed towards Eddie's. The two of you needed to talk. You were going to fix this for her. Here goes nothing.
