You hadn't seen Billy in a week. He was supposed to pick William up yesterday and never showed. You called his house a few times only getting his voicemail. What the fuck? He couldn't do this to William. Surely he wasn't still mad about before.
You told William he was just busy this weekend and he would see him soon. He was a little disappointed but got over it quickly. Oh, to be five again. All your worries disappear as soon as you're distracted by something else.
You made dinner, it was just you and William tonight. Eddie was working late at the shop. You ate dinner, changed William into his pajamas, read him a bedtime story and kissed him goodnight.
You went and sat on the couch and turned on a movie. About twenty minutes in you heard a crash outside. What the hell? You walked over to the window and peaked outside. You saw Billy's Camaro on the curb. Your mailbox and trash can on the ground. Fuck.
You opened the door. "What the fuck Billy? You didn't see my mailbox there?" He stumbled your way. "Yeah, sorry. My bad." he slurred. "No. No, no, no. I'm not doing this." you said as he kept walking towards you. "Where the fuck were you yesterday? William was waiting. And now you show up drunk." you said angrily.
As Billy got closer you could finally see his face. He looked like he'd been in a fight. He had a cut under his eye. He used to get into fights just to blow off steam. His eyes were bloodshot and puffy. He'd been crying. Really crying. "Billy, what's going on?" you said, your voice softer than before.
"Can I come inside?" was all he said. You stood there for a second. You knew he shouldn't. Eddie would be livid. You looked up at him and his eyes were pleading with you. "I just need to talk." he said stumbling backwards. He couldn't drive like this. You went and put his arm around your shoulder. He leaned into you as you walked into the house.
You sat him on one side of the couch and you went to the other. "What's wrong, Billy?" you said concerned. You'd never seen him look like this. His eyes filled with tears and he leaned forward putting his head in his hands. "My um.. my mom.." was all he managed.
Of course you knew about his mom. But as far as you knew, they weren't in touch. She had left him when she left his dad. You knew he missed her something fierce but you had no idea what he was getting at. "What about her, Billy?" you said softly. "She... um.. fuck!" he growled standing up suddenly.
"She got in a accident. She's fucking dead!" he yelled, tears streaming down his face. Your heart broke. "Bills..." you said lightly. He sat back down then leaned over. His head on your legs. "Billy, I'm so sorry." He was sobbing. You had never seen him like this before.
"It's stupid.. ya know?" he said in between sobs. "But I always thought we'd... reconnect one day." he continued, his tears falling on your legs. "I never... I never thought I wouldn't have that chance." My Billy. You couldn't fight the urge to comfort him. Your heart was breaking for him. You brushed his hair out of his face.
"It's okay, it's gonna be okay." you soothed. You sat there running your hands through his hair until he drifted off to sleep. You slid out from under him as gently as you could, trying not to wake him. You covered him with a blanket. You leaned down and kissed his forehead.
"I love you, y/n. I never stopped loving you." he said sleepily. God damn it, Billy. You had wondered, but he hadn't said it. Now it was out there in the open. "Goodnight, Billy." you whispered back.
You sat drinking some hot tea at the kitchen table waiting for Eddie. He is not gonna be happy. You heard the lock of the door turn and stood up to go meet him. "Why is Billy's car out front?" he said, already irritated. He looked over and saw him asleep on the couch. "What the fuck is he doing on my couch?" he said staring at you.
"Eddie, listen..." you started. "Y/n, I'm trying. I'm really trying. What do you want from me? You tell me he's hitting on you, and now I come home at ten at night and he's asleep on my couch?" he scoffed.
"It's not like that. Please come here. I'll explain, okay." you said taking his hand. He reluctantly allowed you to pull him in the bedroom. You explained about his mom. "I'm not trying to be a dick but I don't see what that has to do with us." he said shortly.
"He's too drunk to drive. He shouldn't have driven here. I couldn't let him leave like that. He's William's dad." Eddie groaned loudly and threw himself back on the bed. "Yeah, okay. Fuck it. But he's gone in the morning, okay?" he said looking at you.
You laid back next to him. "Of course. I'm.. I'm sorry Eds." He leaned over pulling you on top of him. "I know a way you can make it up to me." he smirked up at you. He ran his hands up your thighs and to your waist.
"Eddie, I don't know if we should." you said nodding towards the door. "I'm not gonna let Billy fucking Hargrove stop me from having sex with my wife." he said flipping you over so he was on top.
He started kissing your neck softly. He started sucking, definitely leaving a mark. You moaned lightly feeling the suction of his lips. You were trying to focus on what Eddie was doing but your mind was going a million miles a minute. He reached down and began to rub across your panties.
He kissed you shoving his tongue in your mouth. "Eddie.. wait." you said suddenly. "I'm, um.. I'm not feeling so well." you said dreading his response. He let out a light laugh, but it wasn't because he found something funny. "Yeah... okay." he rolled off of you and hopped up.
"Where are you going?" you said nervously. "I'm telling Billy to get the fuck out of my house." he said clearly frustrated. "Just because I didn't want to have sex? Eddie, that's not fair. He can't drive! This has nothing to do with him." you tried to sound convincing. "I'm not mad that you didn't want to have sex. I'm mad that it absolutely has everything to do with him." he said walking out of the room.
You jumped up to follow him. "Eddie, stop." you begged him. He ignored you and walked over to the couch. He shook Billy awake. "It's time for you to leave." he said sternly. Billy sat up rubbing his eyes. "What was that, Munson?" he said a smile already forming on his lips. Billy please don't.
"I said, it's time for you to leave." Eddie said louder. Billy stood up staggering slightly. "Okay, relax. Billy, sit down. You're not going anywhere." you said walking over. "Eddie can I please talk to you." "Your girlfriend doesn't want me to leave." Billy said in a smug tone, sitting back down.
"She's my wife you prick. And I'd appreciate it if you'd stop hitting on her and coming to her with your problems that don't have shit to do with her." Eddie continued. Billy stood up again. "I'm sorry my mom's death is an inconvenience for you." he spit.
He turned to you. "Tell William that I love him." he started towards the door. "Billy, stop." you said. He ignored you and kept going. You heard the Camaro start. "Damn it, Eddie." you said harsher than you meant to. You ran outside, Eddie following you.
"Just let him go, y/n." he called after you. "I can't, Eddie!" you yelled turning to look at him. "What exactly does that mean?" he said slowly. "Eddie, I can't do this right now. I have to stop him." you ran to the car and jumped in the passenger seat.
"Billy, you can't drive like this. Come back inside, please." you said grabbing his hand. He looked over at you. His eyes looked wild. A slow grin spread across his face as he put the car in drive and hit the gas. "Billy!" you yelled as he took off down the road.
