It was two days before Christmas. Things had went well with your Grandma last week. You had lunch after and said your goodbyes. You hadn't seen your mom since then, which was no surprise. You and Billy were out grocery shopping. Well, you were grocery shopping, Billy was sitting out in the car.

You grabbed a few things and turned onto the next aisle. You saw Eddie. You tried to turn before he saw you but it was too late. "Y/n! Hey!" He said smiling that gorgeous smile. You walked over to him. He had an unhealthy amount of Honeycombs in his shopping cart.

You laughed. "Is this all you eat?" You questioned. "Huh?" He followed your eyes to the cereal. "Oh, uh, no." He replied holding up a finger and moving the boxes aside to show some TV dinners underneath. "Voilà." He said dramatically as if he had revealed something incredible.

You smiled up at him. "Look I really should get going, Billy's in the car waiting." You said shuffling your feet. "Wait, hold on!" he said digging through his pockets. "Now where did I put the damn thing? Ahh, here we go!" He said pulling out a cassette.

He handed it over to you. 'Merry Christmas -Eds' scrawled on the front. "What is this?" You said looking up at him. "Well I know we can't see each other right now, but um, I just wanted you to know I was thinking about you. I haven't stopped thinking about you." He said nervously.

"It's just some songs I thought you'd like

"It's just some songs I thought you'd like. And I recorded me playing 'Fade to Black' because you seemed to like it... and there's um, there's one original song.. it's for you." He rambled on.

"Oh." You said taken aback. "I was gonna just drop it in your mailbox but I.. well I kept chickening out. But seeing you here, I just want you to have it." He continued.

You shoved it in your jacket pocket. "Thank you, Eddie." You said softly. You leaned in and gave him a quick hug. That stupid feeling in your heart was back and you just wanted to grab him and kiss him. "I really should go."

"Yeah, of course. Merry Christmas y/n." He said giving you a soft smile. "Merry Christmas Eddie." You said as you walked away to check out.

You got back in the car, Billy was smoking out the window. "What took you so long?" He asked. "There was a long line, you know with the holidays coming up." You answered. He nodded his head. "Well let's go babe, I'm freezing." He said leaning over to give you a kiss.

You got to the house and Billy grabbed the bags out of the backseat. "My strong man," you winked up at him. "Yeah, yeah, open the door for me," he said smiling. You hung up your jacket and started to put the groceries away.

"Fuck, babe. I forgot to grab smokes. I'll be right back." Billy said. "Okay, I'll start dinner." You replied your head in the fridge. You stood up suddenly remembering the mixtape in your jacket. You needed to put it somewhere.

You walked over and stuck your hand in your pocket, digging around. You felt nothing. You frantically went for the other pocket. It was empty as well. "Fuck! Fuck, fuck, fuck." You said starting to panic.

It must have fallen out. Which means it was in Billy's car. You ran to the door and saw him pulling out of the driveway. Shit. This was not good.
