You stood up shakily. You couldn't believe this. Billy was gone. He was really gone. He wanted nothing to do with you. Your breathing sped up. Your heart was pounding in your chest. You walked to the bathroom and put your hands on the counter to steady yourself.
You looked up into the mirror. Mascara was smeared everywhere from your tears. You had snot running down your nose. Get it together. You told yourself. You grabbed some toilet paper and blew your nose.
You grabbed a rag and roughly wiped the makeup off as best you could. Your eyes were red and swollen. You walked out into the living room. You walked over and picked up the mixtape from the floor. Shit, Eddie. You walked to your phone and dialed his number.
Come, on. Pick up. Pick up. There was no answer. Fuck. You tried again. No answer. You didn't know where Billy went. He could be over there now. You ran and slipped on your boots and took off out the door running. You were freezing and exhausted emotionally and all you wanted to do was curl up in a ball and cry but you pushed on.
You made it to Eddie's trailer, you didn't see Billy's car anywhere so that was a good sign. You got to the porch and banged loudly on the door. You put your hands on your knees breathing heavily. The door cracked open and Wayne appeared. "You know, you knock like you're the damn police." Wayne said laughing.
"Eddie... Billy..." you said in between breaths. You held up a finger to let him know to give you a second. "Y/n, are you okay? Get out of that cold." Wayne said pulling you inside. "I.. need... Eddie." you said panting.
"Here, sit down. I'll go and get him, alright?" he said. He steered you towards the couch. "It's urgent," you pressed as you sat down. Wayne grabbed a blanket and put it around your shoulders. You put your head in your hands.
Eddie appeared a minute later. It was clear he had just woken up. His hair was disheveled and he was in boxers and a tshirt. His eyes were sleepy. He wasn't fully awake but when he saw you sitting there he snapped out of it.
"Hey, hey. What's going on? Are you okay?" he sat next to you. You looked up into his eyes, your eyes welled with tears again. You reached up and touched his face. "I'm so glad you're okay." you said. "You have to go. Billy knows, about us." you sniffled. "He's gonna come after you. Please." you pleaded.
"I'm not worried about me. Y/n, are you okay?" he said. You fell into him. "Billy left me, for good." you sobbed. Eddie wrapped his arms around you and pulled you in. "It's okay. I've got you. I'm here." he soothed.
Wayne looked over at the two of you. He gave Eddie a questioning look. Eddie gave him a nod and a thumbs up to let him know it was okay. Eddie rubbed your arm as you cried into his chest. After a while you looked up at him.
"I'm so sorry. This is so embarrassing." you said wiping your eyes. "No, it's not." he responded sweetly. "Eddie, can we please go somewhere?" you were still afraid Billy was going to show up. "Sure, yeah. Let me grab you a jacket though. You're still freezing." he said walking to his room.
He came out with a black hoodie. You pulled it over your dress. It smelled like him. Eddie reached down and grabbed your hand, pulling you up. He went and said something to Wayne and then you both went to the van. "Where to?" he asked you. "Anywhere." you responded leaning to stare out the window.
