A Killer's Obsession

Chapter 5

Aera Pov:

This was awful. It was now 4:00 PM, and I was in one of the University's many gyms with my team as well as the 13 killers sitting on the bleachers.

"Captain! Are we gonna start?" Kyujin shouted from behind me.

I slowly nodded and pulled on my mask.

"Y-yeah. Pair up and start dueling, winner is first to 3 points."

With that the three girls began to split up and began practicing. Haewon gave me a concerned look, but I smiled weakly as an attempt to reassure her that I was fine. Focus Aera. Focus. I honed my senses and quickly parried Haewon's attacks. Thrust and retreat, thrust and slash. Clang! In minutes, Haewon was on the ground gasping as her eyes met mine. I breathed a sigh of relief. I was victorious. Those feelings of triumph were solely deflated as there were several hoots from the sidelines.

"WOO HOO!" A voice yelled.

I turned to see Hoshi, Dokyeom, and Seungkwan cheering.

I sighed.

"That was so cool!" Seungkwan exclaimed, clasping his hands.

I felt a hand on my shoulder and noticed that Haewon had picked herself up from the ground.

"I know right? Aera's the ace!"

I flinched as Kyujin and Lily arrived, hanging their arms around me.

"And we love it!" Haewon added with a grin.

"Shall we girls?" Lily asked, eyebrows raised.

I frowned.

"What are you guys doing? Wait. Put me down-"

"Park Aera! Park Aera! Park Aera!"

I yelped as the trio began to throw me into the air repeating my name.

"Oh my god! You guys! Come on-Woah!"

After a few more throws, I was set down.

"Good god. You three." I groaned.

"Hahaha. Don't be so grumpy. You're our ace!" Kyujin squealed, patting my head.

As their voices faded I felt a hand on my shoulder.

"Need some help?"

I sighed and accepted the extended hand.

"Thanks-"

I froze when I noticed the face. Jun.

"What's wrong? Not happy to see me?" the male asked, smirking.

"Uh. Yeah, bye!" I spluttered quickly running after my friends.

This was utter hell. Unfortunately it was about to get worse.
