“Aww... Look cute she is,” Avyuktha coos, caressing Ridha and Vansh's daughter. She holds the baby in her arms carefully and her finger trembles as it runs along the soft skin of the baby. “She is a lot like Vansh.”

She whispers to me and smiles. I look away. I can't see her with babies. I can't see the twinkle in her eyes replaced with disappointment because of my request.

“Avi,” Ridha murmurs, “My daughter?”

Avyuktha puts the baby beside her and Ridha hugs her daughter to her chest crying. “I am sorry,” she cries, “I am sorry for everything, baby. I won't let you know the lack of father love.”

Avyuktha's eyes tear up seeing her sister crying. “We are sorry for everything, Ridha,” Avyuktha whispers and kisses her forehead, “We are so sorry.”

Ridha closes her eyes tightly sobbing. Avyuktha blames herself more and I can't see it anymore. Whatever happened and even if she is the reason for others' pain, I can't see tears in her eyes.

I hug her to my chest and take out her away. She still sobs even after we reached the parking lot. Her sobs go wild and it fucking makes me crazy.

“Stop! Baby, you are not responsible for Vansh's defeat in the election or you aren't responsible for him abandoning your sister,” I try to soothe her, taking her in my lap after we settle in the car.

A month ago, Vansh lost the elections which he couldn't accept. He blamed me, and Avyuktha more since he believes if she hadn't walked out of the marriage with Viaan, he wouldn't lose. He treated his pregnant wife badly and pushed her out of the house as if punishing Avyuktha by using her sister.

“No, baby,” she sniffles snuggling into my neck, “Because of me Vansh left my sister and his baby. Even after he was intimated about the baby, he didn't come to see his wife before delivery or to his daughter after she is born.”

I make her meet my eyes and kiss her forehead, “They had a love marriage but he didn't treat your sister right. He claimed he was in love with her but he didn't consider it even once before throwing her out. He gave everything for his baby even before she is born but now when she is out, he didn't come to her. Now, it's his fault, baby. That man is full of loopholes in his character. If he was a real man, he would never do this to your sister irrespective of what her relationship with you had caused him.” I wipe her cheek and tie her hair together with a band while she falls into thought.

“Maybe it's true, Annu,” she looks up at me with tears, “But I can't help that I feel so terrible for ruining my sister's life while I am having a happy life of mine.”

“You didn't ruin her life,” I say sternly, “It's just Vansh failed in proving his love. His anger and thirst for a political career ruined his relationship taking over his love. Your sister doesn't deserve him.”
