A week later,"I am giving up on the property for the love of my life," Viaan says placing the papers on the table in the living room. I drift my gaze between him and Avyuktha who is smiling at him. "I am sorry, Avi. I am sorry for everything I did to you and your husband."
Avyuktha nods with a grin. She hugs Mom's arm happily and leans her head on Mom's shoulder. There is a special glow for a few days and I can feel her putting on weight. It's not like I mind though.
"There will be a fine to be paid by you for snatching their land illegally, Viaan," Chey says and looks at me, "Shre, you want to put any charges on him since he is ready to admit everything?"
I don't know. What changed in just weeks that Viaan is ready to give our property back? Why is he looking at my wife in that way? Why is my wife smiling at him?
By the way, his eyes are on my wife, I fucking want to put charges on him. As I am about to tell my decision, Avyuktha puts her hand on my shoulder and smiles at Viaan sweetly.
"No, Chey. Let's end it here," she looks at that bastard again, "We don't want to put any charges on him."
Chey looks at me and Dad for confirmation. Dad sighs and nods agreeing with Avyuktha. When Chey asks me once again through his eyes, I get on my feet and shove my hands in my pocket.
"Throw this bastard out first," with that, I walk away still feeling Avyuktha's gaze on my back.
"I am sorry about that, Viaan. Meet you later," I hear her voice.
Is she fucking crazy?!
I paddle my feet faster.
I walk inside with rage and throw the lamp on the wall. Avyuktha——I didn't know was following me inside——yelps. I turn around and find her palming her eyebrow.
My heart drops when I find blood dripping from her palms. I run to her and remove the hands off her face. I flinch and tears leave my eyes when I see the glass piece stuck above her left eyebrow at the same place where Viaan hurt her, leading to a tiny cut but a deep one.
"Did you get hurt? You fine?" she asks, not caring about her wounds and blood. “Annu, you didn't hurt yourself right?”
I immediately take her to the washroom least caring about her question. I wash her face and make her sit on the bed. I start to clean her wound and apply the antiseptic. She giggles.
"Stop crying," she pinches my lips, playfully. "Stop it, idiot."
Though it's been a week nothing changed between us. She is being like nothing happened between us but I couldn't be myself without opening myself to her. I should make everything right. Yes, I should. Soon. There is no point in hiding what I did to her. Until I confess about everything nothing will fall back in its place.
