"So where are you taking me to?" she asks for the 10th time now.

I sigh. "Did you ever taste street food?" I ask her. Her eyes twinkle.

"When I, Ishu, and Deva used to be in Delhi, we used to eat lots of street food," she says grinning. I smile.

"Ever in Hyderabad?" I ask her.

She thinks over it and shakes her head no. "When I, Ishu, and Deva were in school, we used to eat chat from that Ramesh uncle's chat bandar which was right in front of my school. That's all I guess" I laugh. Very hard.

She pouts. "Don't laugh, Shreyan."

I hold her hand and intertwine our fingers, "That's not street food I'm talking about." I say while she stares at our intertwined fingers but doesn't slip her fingers from mine.

"Okay! Stop," she yells and holds our palms together in her left palm placing them in her lap. "When we were in high school, though our streams were different, I, Deva and Ishu used to meet after college ended. Near our college, there used to be a huge food center. We used to eat Shawarma, Frankie's, momos, and milkshakes."

I laugh again. "Are you even a Hyderabadi?" I ask her. She nods like a kid. "Then how come you are not aware of street food in Hyderabad?"

"Should I tell you a secret, Shreyan?" she asks in a whisper as if she is already sharing it.

I nod. "Yes, Avyuktha. You can." she laughs and turns to me.

"I visited Charminar only once and that's when I was a kid." she pouts and looks at me, "I never went to Birla mandir." Not leaving my hand, she rests her chin over my shoulder, "I never saw Golkonda fort except for sometimes in books." she laughs at herself.

I smile. "I'll take you everywhere and I'll show you every place," I say and kiss the side of her head. "Promise."

She smiles contended. "You visited a lot of places in Hyderabad, right?" she asks.

"Well, I Chey, and Sam have never been in the home on weekends except for the times when we three are really tired," I say, "We eat street food irrespective of the backgrounds we come from."

She looks at me with a smile but she doesn't look into my eyes. I hope she does. I don't know why but I wish it.

"I, Deva, and Ishu studied in the same school since we were in kindergarten. When we chose our streams, it didn't drift our relationship. We gave each other the space we needed. In all India exams, we three worked hard to get into the same colleges having multiple courses. We were fools. We got placed in Delhi-based colleges and since we were 18 till we turned 27 years, I stayed there completing our bachelor's and master's." she says with a smile.
