"Shre?" Mom knocks on my door, concerned. "Shre, come and have dinner, beta."

Chey and Sam look at me. I shake my head lying on the bed. They sigh. While Chey leans on the wall near the window, Sam pushes himself against the balcony door and walks to attend to Mom.

"Mom," I hear him say.

"Samrat, what happened? Will your friend eat only if his wife is here?" she chuckles while the mention of my Yuktha drowns me in pain more. "Ask him to stop this obstinacy. It's been more than a week and she will come soon. I wonder how she is even living without him when everyone knows she loves him to death."

I curl into a ball and suppress my sobs. She loved me. She loved me so much. She loved me for the past 20 years and I just took advantage of her.

"If he won't eat on time, my daughter-in-law will roast me alive. Ask him to come now. I made your and Chey's favourites too. Join us soon," Mom says happily.

Sam looks at me and I just shake my head. "Mom, sorry, we had our food at a restaurant. And we are having alcohol now. If we feel hungry we will reheat it and eat them. You and Uncle have it and keep them in the fridge, Mom," he says calmly.

Mom argues with Sam sadly but he makes her understand and asks her to have food. He closes the door behind him and walks toward me.

Glaring at me, he sits on the couch. "How long, Shre?" his voice is laced with anger. "How long are you and Avyuktha gonna fool both your parents that she is on a trip? It's been more than a week now, damn it!!!! They need to know that they are gonna become grandparents."

I choose to stay silent. My low sobs echo in the silent room and Chey walks to me angrily.

"Get up, man! What's wrong with you? Your wife is there all alone carrying your child and you are here crying to yourself. She needs you, Shre. She is alone fighting with the utmost complications. I don't understand what is running through your head, Shre," he says frustrated.

"I ruined everything," I cry. "Yes, I lied to her that I loved her then because I never wanted to lose her. It's just I didn't realize it. But back in my head, I knew I can't live without that woman. That's why lied to her. The revenge plan is just after I realized I am meaningless without her. Now, I love her so much. Yes, I didn't want babies. Now, I want to have a family with her," I pull my hair in anger at myself. "I just ruined us. Our memories. Our happy lives."

"You know what?" Sam gets on his feet while Shre grabs the bike keys completing Sam's sentence, "You need to meet her right now."

"She isn't ready to see me. She will be more depressed if she sees me. It will harm our daughter," I whisper, running my palms over my face.

"We understand but she needs to know. She fucking needs to know everything from you but not some random bastard like Viaan," Sam yells.

"She won't let me come to her, Sam," I mumble.
