It's the week of Aspen. We leave tomorrow morning and I'm currently packing while Chris is popping over to his mum's house. I'm having a bit of trouble. I'm definitely an over-packer. My phone suddenly pings and I open up the Instagram notification - someone requesting to message me. I've had a fair few of these - more than I usually would, anyway. A lot of them just want to know things about Chris, so I usually end up ignoring them.
There's been a lot of public comments since his appearance on Jimmy Fallon too. A lot of them are about him calling me his missus, and 95% of them are all really positive and sweet. The negative comments are starting to die down. They're still out there, but it's definitely not as bad now.
'Chris and his new girlfriend are seriously adorable.😍'
'He looks so happy and in love, I'm so happy for him!'
'Spend some time with the missus' - Chris Evans is gon get married in 2020, change my mind👀'
'Seriously think i would fight anyone who disrespects Chris's new girlfriend 👊 they are such cuties together and she seems like a sweetie'
'I'm sad I'm not his girlfriend, but he looks genuinely happy and complete and it's so great to see. He deserves it!'
'Was watching Chris Evans on Jimmy Fallon, and when he referred to his girlfriend Meg as his missus I verbally squeaked. I hear wedding bells👀'
'Missus = a person's wife. Chris Evans called his girlfriend his missus. Chris Evans + his missus = engaged before the year is up. Chris Evans + his missus + engaged = Chris Evans is gonna be married and have his big Boston family before we know it. See, kids, math is fun! 😄👰🤵'
The comments make me smile. And I can't stop thinking about what some of them say, about marriage... sure, missus means wife, but... I mean, Chris wouldn't want to marry me. Even if he did, I can't see him wanting that yet... He's been with exes longer than he's been with me. And I know how happy he is with me. But being happy with someone doesn't mean you want to marry them... I'm really happy with Chris. The happiest I've ever been. And I... absolutely, indefinitely, would marry him, in a heartbeat. This was a bad example. Crap. Would he marry me?
Chris's POV
"Hey, ma!" I yell, wandering into the house with Dodger. That's when I'm attacked by little people, and I laugh — Miles and Stella.
"Uncle Chris! Dodger!" They fuss Dodger.
"Hey there, guys! How ya doin'?"
"Good. Where's Meg?" Stella asks.
"She's at home. I only popped in to drop Dodger off. Me and Meg are going on holiday."
"Where are you going?" Miles asks.
"Aspen."
"Where's that? Is it hot or cold? What are you doing there?" I let out another laugh.
"It's still here in America. It'll be snowing there now, cause it's ski season."
"So you'll be skiing?" I nod.
"A little bit, yeah." That's when my mom walks in and smiles, and I smile in return. "Hey, mom." I give her a hug.
"Hey, darling. You all sorted for your trip?"
"Yeah, pretty much. Just got a little more packing to do. Thanks again for looking after Dodger."
"Anytime, he's an angel. So, is this it then? Are you going to pop the question in Aspen?" She asks playfully, raising her eyebrows and making me smile uncontrollably. That's when Stella gasps.
