The following morning, I wake up naturally, being spooned by Chris. Uncontrollably, I smile widely. Oh I've missed this. I've really missed it. Chris groans softly, slowly starting to arise. "Gooooood morning."
"Good morning, beautiful." I slowly shuffle over, turning to face him and he grins, as our noses touch.
"How'd you sl-sleep?"
"Mmm, best sleep since LA." He comments and I bite my lip.
"Mine too." His grin widens and he pecks my lips softly.
"What are we doing today then?" He asks curiously.
"I don't know, what would you like to do?"
"You can't answer my question with another question." I laugh softly.
"Yeah I can." He laughs, rolling his eyes.
"Well, I think you should show me around a bit more. And then we should talk about you moving to Boston with me." My lips stretch into an uncontrollable smile.
"Yeah, we should d-definitely t-talk about that."
"Absolutely. Maybe we should do that now actually." He says with a cheeky smile. "When do you want to move? Immediately? Brilliant." I smile and roll my eyes.
"I totally would, but I have to give t-two weeks notice into work."
"Hmmm, I think I can change that."
"You probably could fluttering those eyelashes." He laughs and that cheeky smile returns.
"We can pop in later, if you want. Break the news."
"Well I do have a shift later."
"What? You're working? That's outrageous. Call in sick." I laugh uncontrollably and roll my eyes.
"I can't call in sick."
"Sure you can. We haven't seen each other in a month."
"I know, but I physically can't. You know I can't l-lie. Plus my manager would get r-really arsey." He sighs over-dramatically and then smiles again. God, he's so adorable. Maybe I could call in sick...
"Okay. We'll go down a bit earlier and tell your manager together. I bet I can get you off for the rest of the week."
"Don't be s-so sure." He gives me a cheeky smile.
"Challenge accepted. We should probably tell your mom first, though." I nod.
"We d-definitely should. Yeah... god, she'll be heartbroken."
"I stand by what I said. She's welcome to come to Boston too."
"They can't afford j-just to up and mmmove to America."
"I could always... loan them some money. Y'know, until they're on their feet." My eyes widen at his suggestion.
"You... you couldn't do that..."
"Why not? I want to make you happy." My heart sinks a little.
"You do make me happy."
"Yeah, but you'd be happier if you had your mom close. And your dogs." I smile and nuzzle his neck.
"I'll cross that b-bridge when it comes. It'll be fine."
"Well, the offer's there..."
"You're too g-good for this w-world." I mumble, making him laugh softly.
"I don't know about that." He utters, drawing patterns on my hip and then moving to my spine, finding that sweet spot again. I shiver in anticipation and he grins.
