Chapter 33

Kale's POV

I went to my office earlier than the usual because of the meeting I have to attend. I've decided to get my breakfast in the drive thru. Hindi ko na ginising si mom to cook for me since I think it would be tiring for her. Isang starbucks coffee at tinapay ang nabili ko. It wouldn't be enough for the whole day but it's better than having nothing.

I've sent messages to Yvaine the moment I woke up. Siguro tulog pa yun ngayon, mababasa nalang niya pagkagising na siya.

Pagkarating ko sa opisina ay sinalubong ako ng guard na nakatoka ngayong umaga. He offered to hold my thing but I politely refused. Dumiretso nalang ako sa 5th floor ng building kung saan ang opisina ko. I'm planning on expanding next year and I hope I'll have enough resources and money of course.

Jennifer's already seated in her table outside of my office. Nang makita niya ako'y mabilis siyang tumayo para batiin ako.

"Good morning, ma'am" she energetically greeted me.

I nodded my head, "Yung pinapagawa ko sa'yo? Tapos mo na ba? So I can review it"

Tumango ito, "Yes! I finished it last night kahit medyo hilo pa" she chuckled.

Hindi ko maalala kung anong nangyari kagabi pagkaalis ko sa table namin. Ang naalala ko lang ay ang pagkagising ko. Jenniffer's attitude towards Yvaine isn't ideal. I have to remind her to be nice.

"You have a deadline pero nag insist ka pa ding sumama. Don't blame anyone" seryosong sabi ko.

"Hindi naman ako naninisi, sinabi ko lang. Sorry" she shook her head.

I turned away, "Bring the folder to my office. Prepare the conference room"

"Yes, ma'am" she said before walking towards her table.

Pumasok ako sa opisina ko at nagsimula na sa trabaho ko. Paulit ulit ko ding chineck ang phone ko para sa message ni Yvaine pero nung makita kong hindi pa siya naka online ay nagfocus nalang muna ako sa trabaho.

I took two hours doing my presentation, the meeting will start at 11 so I had to prepare myself, wala pa man din ngayon si Kathy dahil naka vacation leave siya. She went home to their province.

Iniwan ko muna ang phone ko sa drawer ng lamesa ko bago napag isipang lumabas ng opisina. Jennifer messaged me that the clients are already at the first floor.

Inabot ni Jennifer saakin ang portfolio nung makapasok ako sa loob. Everything is set and clear. I walked towards the middle chair and made myself comfortable. Huminga ako ng malalim bago ako huminga hinga ng malalalim. It's not my first time doing this but it feels like I'm a newbie.

I stood up when the door opened, Jennifer accommodated them to their seats. We shook hands and gave them a warm welcome.

"I'm glad you're able to attend even in a short notice," anang ko.

"Our pleasure..."

"Everyone, thank you for attending this meeting. I'm here to honestly answer your queries. I know this is a sensitive topic but we have to settle things so that we can proceed with the operations"

Tahimik silang nanood saakin habang inaayos ni Jennifer ang powerpoint na ginawa ko kanina. I stood up and prepared myself for the presentation. The clients were silent the whole time, they're just listening to whatever I am saying.

"The floor plan wasn't followed..." one client said.

"That's on your contractor and foreman sir, not on me or our company"

"Yes... I'm just trying to know if what happened last week will not happen again. The operation is taking so long, this project is supposed to end this year pero dahil sa nangyari nagkaroon ng delay"
