"Was anyone else in here while I was unconscious?"

"A guy named Dylan?"

I look over at Rachel, "I see," I smile at this. It's nice to have someone care for me. I haven't forgotten about Alex. How can I? After him telling me that he loves me, "Can you call my mother that I'm awake now and contact the school so I can get my homework? I'm probably way behind..." I sigh and laid back on the bed.

Nurse Rachel stands up and walks over to the door, "Sure thing Cain. I will get you another glass of water as well."

I nod my head and close my eyes. I should take a shower. I look over at the IV stabbed into my arm. 'But with this thing in my arm, it's going to be hard to shower," I sighed and smelled myself, 'Yup, I need a shower.' I didn't smell bad, but I was sweaty and smelled of medicine. I still had my oxygen mask on my face. I grab the mask and take it slowly off, falling onto my chest. I inhale the air around me, and my oxygen seems to be normal. It felt great to breathe normally.

As Dylan's friend- I noticed something about him. First, he got thinner. 2nd, he seems not to be eating much. Third, he doesn't seem to be happy. Now, what could have happened to him? He also wears long sleeves underneath his shirt to school. Could he be cutting himself? An emo kid like myself would know about that, which would also make him depressed, and when you are depressed, you lose weight and not wanting to eat.

Nurse Rachel walks back into the room with a chart and tray of food; placing the tray on my side table, she said, "You need to eat something. That way, you don't need that IV stuck in your arm."

I look at her and then at the tray. The plate had a sandwich, a slice of cheese, and slices of green apple.

While I ate my sandwich, I asked Rachel if she got hold of my mother and the school.

"Yes, I reached your mother, and she will come over tomorrow to check on you. Alex will come back tomorrow, according to the headmaster, and that's all I know about that."

"Alright...hey, do you think it's ok for me to take a shower without this sticking in my arm?" I point to the IV pouch.

Rachel went over to the bed where the IV pouch is, "Sure you can. I will take it off now, actually," she takes a cotton ball out of her scrub's pocket, took the needle out of my arm, she pressed the cotton on my arm so that it can stop the bleeding and then she wraps a little yellow bandage around my arm and the cotton, "there you go."

"Thank you," I said, standing up but quickly felt my legs become like jello, and the nurse had to catch me before I fell to the ground, "sorry, I guess my legs have lost some muscle in them since I was in bed for 6 days. I will have to get used to walking again."

"I can get a wheelchair for you for now if you want. I will get physical therapy to help you build up your muscles again."

"That would be nice," I said as she sat me down to on my bed and disappeared from the room to get a wheelchair for me.

She came back 15 minutes later with a wheelchair and helped me up. She wraps an arm around me and guides me slowly to the chair, "Could I get a clean gown?"

She sat me down, "Of course," Rachel went over to my closet and takes out a fresh gown for me to wear, and hands over to me.

"Thank you Rachel. I will go over to the shower now. Are there towels in there?"

"Yes."

"Are they clean?"

"Yes they are. No one used them yet."

"Awesome," I wheeled my chair into the bathroom closing the door behind me. There was no lock on it though.

It took 2 minutes to take off my gown and underwear while in the chair. Then I wheeled the chair to the tub. There is a bench in  the tub with a bar on it to grab onto.  I grab the bar and stand up slowly then went into the tube slowly . I felt like an old man doing this. I sat on the bench and turned on the water to the head.
