Chapter 31

Cain Pov

The court was dense and quiet. Only a few people were in the back. My father's mother and father were among them. We still were in good connection with them. They want what it takes to help their son. Alex was sitting right next too me. Along with my mother. My sister was in the front too testify. My mother is also a witness after she got in my sister's room and saw she was gone. She then saw a van outside. Getting a bat she went straight too the van and smashed the glass on the drivers seat. She told me that she saw father in the driver's seat and smashed his head with the bat. He was unconscious and knowing that my sister is inside the van opened it and let my scared to death sister out. Mother told this all too me today when she got me out of the hospital.

I was nervous. Just nervous. I couldn't breathe. Alex noticing me tense. Squeezes my hand. We didn't tell our parents that we are engage. Alex and I decided to tell them together. Meaning my mother and his father will be in the same room when we tell them. Alex thought it would be better if I didn't wear the ring till they know. So he gave me a chain to put it around my neck and hide it inside my shirt. They will just think it's a chain around my neck. We did how ever tell my mother that we are in love with eachother. She was happy for me and told me that she wants me to be happy. She knew Alex was a nice kid and she knew that me and him go way back. I look over at Alex. He was something special too me.

Alex looks over at me starring, "What is it?" he asks squeezing my hand.

"Nothing just like looking at you."

Alex smiles and puts his head on my shoulder. I look around if people are noticing but they are more interested in talking amongs eachother. I look back at Alex and plant a kiss on his forehead. I'm worried about what his father is going to think about us. Afterall he is the one that got Alex to betray me on 2nd day of highschool. I don't want to feel that pain again.

Alex looks up at me noticing my worried face, "Are you alright?" he whispers in my ear.

"I will talk to you later about something that has been worrying me."

Alex sits up and squeezes my hand, "Why don't you tell me now?"

I look over at my mother and then him, "I want to talk to you privately about it?"

Alex looks at the front then at me, "Your father isn't here yet at the front so we have a few minutes to spare. Lets talk outside?"

Alex gets up, "OK," getting up too and telling mother that we will be outside talking.

"So..." Alex began when we got outside, "what is on your mind?"

"It's just...I'm worried about your father?"

"My father?"

"What if he tells you not to be with me?"

Alex walks closer too me and takes my hand, "Then I won't listen this time."

"But-"

Alex pulls me into a hug, "Look I shouldn't have betrayed you in the first place when my father told me I couldn't hangout with you anymore. I told him I was going to support you today in court and he seemed ok with it."

I hug him tightly and look at him, "What did he say?"

"Well it took a little bit to convince him but eventually he said ok and to wish you good luck."

"I see."

Alex kisses me on the mouth, "Don't worry Cain. Please don't. I will not betray you like that again."

"You promise? Even if your dad says no about us?"

"Yes," he lets go off me and takes my hand  and kisses it, "I promise. You are somebody who is really important too me."
