Chapter 15 The Game
Soon the team sheets came out. Players playing for Spanish are; Paños GK, Defenders Paredes, León, Oauhbi, and Batlle. Midfielders Bonmatí, Caldentey, Guijarro and Strickers Cardona, González, García. Subs are Gallardo, Aleixandri, Carmona, Guerroro, Abelleira, Costillio, Sarreigi and Pina
Players playing for USA are; Ashlyn Harris is Goal, Krieger, O’hara, Sauerbunn, and Sonnet for Defenders, Horan, S.Mewis K.Mewis Morgan Midfielders, Press, TJ, Heath. Subs Naeher, Sonnet, Dahlkemper, Sullivan, Sanchez, Hatch, Coffey, Pugh
Jill wanted to put TJ up front and with people that know her game like Becky and Crystal.
TJ followed the team out as they did the warm-ups. Once everyone was warmed up they went into the locker and got changed into the kit. TJ smiled when she saws hers especially when they took her name and number into account she is number 40 and has TJ on the back with HP at the end.
Before TJ knew it they were all lining up in the tunnel ready to come on. TJ was in between her mom and mama. TJ was excited but nervous. Soon Becky was leading the team in out, TJ was in awe as the crowds roared for their teams. They then did the anthems and the handshakes.
Spanish were kicking off first towards the US side so they can kick towards the Spanish side after halftime.
The ref blew her whistle and the game was kicked off. TJ was getting through the defense with ease Crystal, Becky, Tobin, and Chris knew how TJ played and was able to put her through on goal. TJ scored 3 goals in the first 45 minutes. USA was smiling when ref blew her whistle for halftime. Jill got them all in the changing room “good game so first keep doing what you are doing” said Jill.
The second half soon began. TJ was happy to get 3 more goals but then she got hit in the head with studs.
