"Lesson one, do not be afraid to talk to women and get to know them. Lesson two, just because you have a crush on her does not mean she feels the same way as you or she may be taken already. Lesson three, treat women like human beings. The last and most important lesson is to always focus on yourself."
Those were the exact words Principal Kenny told Tom yesterday. Ever since then, those words resonated with him. Tom made sure to not let his principal's words words go in vain.
The first thing he did to correct in his life was cleaning up his room. His room was a pig's tine as there were dirty clothes everywhere, trash laying around, and everything disorganized. He did not want his messy room to dictate his life, if he's going to change, this room had to be improved immediately.
He went downstairs to get paper towels, trash bags, window cleaner, and disinfectant wipes. Brought them upstairs to his room. He was wondering what he was going to fix next because there was a lot to deal with.
He started off with his clothes since that was the one causing most of the mess in his room. There were two empty laundry baskets, which he felt ashamed that he was not using. Could not believe how lazy he was.
After he got done with his dirty clothes, he picked up all the trash and put them in the trash bag. He made sure to check all the drawers and underneath his bed, did not want to see any mess and needed everything to be spotless.
Five minutes later of gathering all the trash, he used the disinfectant wipes to wipe down any dust on his drawers, television, and anywhere he keeps items at. Then, he used the window cleaner and paper towel to wipe his windows.
The room looked clean, but he double checked if there was anything that he missed. He found nothing else. He was proud that he cleaned his room and it only took twenty minutes to complete. All those days, weeks, and months of his room being a mess was now looking like Wonderland to him.
Since he accomplished cleaning his room, he wondered what he could do next or other issues to fix. Usually, he would lay on his bed to watch silly TikTok videos or play video games. But he did not feel like doing that today.
He just thought of the next issue to fix and that was his relationship with his sisters. He felt like they never talked or engaged with him. Today, he wanted to fix that. He decided to knock at both Ashley's and Ellie's room. They were wondering what he wanted.
""What's going on, Tom?" Ellie asked, Ashley crossed her arms and gave him a deep stare.
"I just wanted to apologize" he told them. The sisters looked at one another, confused on what he was saying.
"Apologize for what?" Ashley questioned.
"I'm sorry if I did anything wrong for you two to ignore and not talk to me." He replied.
"What? You did not do anything wrong." Ellie told him.
"If so, then why am I left off your guy's conversations? It does hurt not being involved in anything." He lets his true feelings reveal.
"We truly apologize for not including you into our conversations or activities. We did not know you felt that way." Ashley said, they both felt bad for treating their brother like that.
"Since you're being honest, we have to tell you the truth as well. The reason why we left you out of conversations was not because we wanted to ignore you, but most of our conversations are about girl stuff." Ellie told him.
"What do you mean?" Tom asked.
"We mostly talk about boys, relationships, emotions, and periods." Ellie replied.
"What's a period?" He asked, the two sisters were stunned that he does not know about periods. Well, he was a six year old boy, which explained a lot.
Ashley decided to whisper in his ear on what a period was. He was disgusted after finding out, they both laughed.
"You are lucky that you don't have to experience what us girls go through. So count yourself lucky!" Ellie told him.
"So, was that all you wanted to tell us?" Ashley asked.
"Yup!" He said.
"Come here and hug us!" Ellie insisted. The sisters welcomed Tom with their open arms and embraced him with a warm hug. That was all he ever wanted was to feel welcomed by his sisters and he was glad to make things right.
"If you need me, I'm going to watching every Christmas Carol movie and TV show there is!" Ashley said, letting go of the hug and went back to her room. Ellie and Tom went back to their rooms as well.
