Chapter 21

ADDISON:
It's been 7 hours since we got to the hospital, Decs been in the operating theatre for 2 and half hours now, they've said there's probably about an hour left. It's 3:30am and all the boys are still here with me. Gareth has turned up as well to wait to see if he's okay, most of the boys are asleep or on their phones, I'm sat in the chair next to where his bed was, where I've been sitting since I got here. I can't stop the tears from falling, I need my man to be okay. I'm brought out of my trance by Ben, he's got an arm around me "stupid question mini Mount but are you okay?" I look at him and just shake my head and cry more, he holds me tight, I look to my right and see Mase asleep in the chair next to me. "Please can I get you a drink or snack please Ads" Ben begs me as I've not wanted anything to eat or drink even though they've all tried, then Gareth comes over and says "here's a tea and bottle of water. I know you won't want them but you need them, Dec can't have you or baby getting poorly. Trust me I know it's the last thing on your mind right now but drink please." I nod and thank him taking a sip of the tea. Again they leave me alone knowing I don't want anyone right now. It's now 4:30am and hopefully Dec will be out of surgery anytime now, Mase has gone with the lads to get a drink and some of Decs bits for when he's out of surgery. I'm in a world of my own but I'm shock when they bring Decs bed back in, he looks asleep. He's got cannulas and wires on him, he looks so broken and I can't fix him, I look at the nurse as she explains "Miss Mount, we've managed to stop the internal bleeding and fix his wrist which was badly broken. Luckily he hasn't broken no bones in his legs. He's very lucky right now, the Dr has said he's to stay sedated for 2 more days to let his body recover. After that he'll be in recovery in hospital for a couple of weeks, and as he'll be weak he'll need physio rehabilitation. But for now he's stable. Just needs rest" I sigh with relief but cry at the same time. "Can I hold his hand?" I ask through the tears. She nods and says I should try talking to him too. I get my phone out and send a message in the groupchat to let them know as I think they're back but in the family room.

Ads: He's back now.

Within minutes of sending that text all the lads come through the door and you can see the hurt on their faces, mixed with shock. Mason comes over and hugs me tight I can't find any words to speak I just cry. Now he's back, the lads speak to him, tell him to hurry and get well, making jokes I think it's to cover their hurt, they all give me a hug and kiss on the cheek telling me they'll be back later to check on him but a lot of their girlfriends and wives want updates too. I watch them leave and Gareth tells us he'll be back later as well but gives me his number to keep him updated or call if we need anything. Mason is sat on his left and I'm on his right and we're both sat in silence just holding his hands praying for him to get better.

MASON:
It's 12:30 pm and Addi finally gave in to sleep about an hour ago, I think she was too scared something would happen if she slept but eventually tiredness took over. I'm sitting here talking to Dec hoping and praying he hears me. "Dec Bro, I need you to come out of this. I need you, Addi needs you, your son needs his daddy. Please bro, I need you to get well, we've always been a duo and I'm lost not having my brother here with your comfort and advice. Please bro get better I need you" I end up crying whilst holding his hand, I then feel arms around me and hands patting me on the shoulder, I look around and the boys are here. They've came back, many of them look like they haven't got much sleep. "How's he doing mate?" Harry K says and I shrug and I don't know how to reply "the same I guess, he just looks like he's sleeping" I say and they tell me, the same is better than being worse. "When did she finally give in?" Ben points to Addi asking about when she went to sleep, whilst he places a blanket over her. I smile at him and say "about an hour ago, she's broken, she's cried constantly and not moved from his side. She's broken and I can't fix it for her. She needs Dec" I reply telling them truthfully, they hug me again and Hendo says "when she wakes up we will all make sure she gets up for a walk, has a drink and some food. She needs to stay healthy too." All the boys agree with him and then Jack points and says "that's Decs top isn't it" and we look at Addi and realise she's wearing the top Dec wore for the game. "It must smell of him, she finds familiar smells comfort" I say thinking back to when we went to England camp and she used mine and decs pillow as it smelt of us.
-2 hours later-
ADDISON:
It's now 2:30pm and I'm waking up I must have fell asleep. I look around the room and see Dec laying there, honestly I thought it was just a bad dream and it would be gone when I woke up but it wasn't I see all the lads in the room and I cry, like fully breakdown and cry, I've been crying all night but this is a full reaction of me realising that none of this was a dream. I feel lots of arms around me, all the boys rush to comfort me, Mason is crouching in front of me and I know he's been crying too. He looks at me and says "sis I'm begging you please, you need to go get food and drink, you need to walk around. I'll stay next to him the whole time, some of the boys will stay too, but baby needs you to look after yourself for his sake." I look at Mason and want to argue to stay but I feel my son kick and I know Mason is right, my son needs me too. I nod and agree.
Jack stands up and says "me and Hendo will go with you Ads, then Dec has got all these lads to look after him. Tell us where you want to go and we will go" I smile at him and thank them both, as I go to stand up I wobble as my legs are so weak. Soon I feel two people, one each side of me, it's Jack and Jordan, they're holding me up. "Can we go home so I can shower? But I'm putting his top back on" I say and Jordan replies "Of course you can. How about we get you a sandwich in the shop on the way to the car then you can eat it in the car on the way home. We will also help you pack some bits so you can stay with him." I lay my head on his shoulder thanking him.
