It was past midnight on a Friday night and Ryan was taking light steps down the stairs in his house, trying his hardest not to make a sound. He didn't want to wake his parents or he'd get an earful.

Where are you going? Who will you be with? Do you know how late it is? Go back to bed! It made his head hurt just thinking about his parents scolding him.

As soon as he locked the front door, he practically ran to his car and turned it on before he could close his soft-close door. He drove off the driveway and and sped down the street. After a fifteen minute drive, he was at his destination. He parked at the end of the driveway and when he stepped out of his car, he could hear the loud music coming from the backyard.

He made his way there and everyone greeted him with a smile and cheer.

"Yo, Ryan's here!" Taehyung said happily as he made his way over. "Glad you could make it."

"I thought this was a car meet," Ryan said and accepted the bottle of beer that Taehyung handed him.

"It was... Until Jungkook came with alcohol and we invited more people over," he laughed.

From across the lawn, Jungkook made eye contact and pointed his finger at Ryan. "Ryan! Come here!"

Taehyung cleared his throat, "Yeah, he's definitely drunk. Humour him."

"I always do," Ryan replied and they walked over to Jungkook who was blushing from the drink in his hand.

"I missed you, man!" Jungkook threw his arms around Ryan and he hugged back. "I wanna ask you something, I wanna ask you something," he repeated.

"What's up?"

"I need to you tell me the truth for this one," he said sternly. "Why did you and Jennie break up?"

Ryan looked around awkwardly at the curious faces of the anyone who heard Jungkook's question. He didn't think this dating scandal with Jennie would linger this long. It's crazy how one little lie can haunt you forever.

Jungkook continued, "As one of Jennie's good friends, I care about her, you know? I wanna know why the fuck she's sitting in the living room crying over you."

"She's crying?" Taehyung asked with concern.

"Is she here?" Ryan asked.

Jungkook nodded, "I just said she was in the living room."

Ryan didn't say anything else and he immediately left to find Jennie. He walked into the house and went directly to the living room. He found Jennie sitting there but she wasn't crying, she was laughing and smiling with a group of girls. When Jennie noticed him, she stopped and stared.

"Why is Ryan looking at you like that...?" one of the girls asked.

"I don't know," Jennie said, but she knew damn well that Jungkook slipped up and said something he shouldn't have.

"Jennie!" Jungkook appeared at the doorway and Jennie groaned in agony. She got up from her seat on the couch and went up to Jungkook.

"Please drink some water," she advised him and pushed him towards the kitchen.

Ryan held onto Jennie's arm, not letting her go with Jungkook. "We need to talk."

"There's nothing to talk about," she replied curtly. She was a little tipsy and was afraid she'd say something stupid. Or worse, she was afraid she'd do something stupid.

"Jennie..." Ryan begged.

"Jennieeee," Jungkook whined.

"Jennie," Ryan said again and gave her a look of desperation.
