Sitting on her bed with a book in her lap, Jisoo had been reading the same two pages for what felt like hours. She finished her homework early today and she had no errands to run. She was bored by herself and reading obviously didn't seem to distract her from boredom.

She sighed put the book down, rubbing her eyes from tiredness. She glimpsed at her phone for any notifications from Ryan. They were texting a while ago and he stopped replying all of a sudden. She was about to text him again but then her phone buzzed with Ryan's caller ID on the screen.

She picked up with a confused "Hello?"

"Hey, Jisoo. You said you were bored earlier, are you still bored right now?" Ryan asked.

"Sadly, yes. I'm so bored that I feel like I'd go crazy. I've been reading the same sentence over and over but my brain doesn't register," Jisoo complained with a small pout.

"What were you reading?"

"Umm..." Jisoo picked up the book again and looked at the cover, "Twilight."

"Bella, where the hell have you been, loca?" he said then laughed.

"Huh?"

"Nothing, nothing."

Jisoo has never seen the movie therefore she didn't understand Ryan's reference to the movie. Even then, she noticed herself smiling too from Ryan's happy chuckle.

"So, ah, why did you call me?" Jisoo asked and leaned her back against the headboard.

"Can't I call my favourite person in the world without being questioned?"

Jisoo smiled shyly. Ryan was always so sweet with his words but a part of her wanted to think he might've been flirting.

"Of course you can, Jihun. But did you need something?"

"Mm, I do actually."

"What can I help you with?"

"Could you open your front door?"

Jisoo scrunched her eyebrows, "My front door? Why?" she asked and hopped out of bed to leave the room. She hurried downstairs with her phone in her hand and unlocked the door.

Standing on the other side was Ryan. He had a grocery bag in one hand, his phone against her ear and big smile on his face. He ended the call as Jisoo let him in the house.

"Is this a happy surprise or a bad one? Your face shows worry," Ryan chuckled and softly nudged her cheek with his knuckle, making her put both her hands on her face for a second.

"No, it's a good reaction. I just didn't know you'd be coming over. I would've cleaned myself up a bit," Jisoo replied, looking down at her pyjamas.

Suddenly Ryan held Jisoo's face with his free hand and her eyes widened a little. He analyzed her face before pressing the back of his hand on her forehead to feel her temperature, "Do you have a fever? You're a bit red."

"Oh... no, I don't... think so," Jisoo mumbled. Their bodies were close enough for her to feel his body heat and his hand was still gently cradling her cheek. She could help but feel a flutter in her stomach. She cleared her throat and moved away to enter the living room, "So what are you doing here, Jihun? You stopped replying to my messages so I'd assume you would be busy."

Ryan smiled, "I wasn't busy at all. Well... maybe I was. I was looking around town for a place to get this for you."

They sat on the couch together and Ryan gave the grocery bag to Jisoo. She looked inside to a few bags of her favourite chips that she knew weren't easy to find in many stores.
