"You know, Lisa, I still don't understand how you're even in the same biology class as Ryan. He's two years older than us."
"I swear we went over this, Rosie."
Lisa finished making her ginseng tea and the two of them went over to the living room to sit on the couches. Lisa kicked her feet up on the coffee table while Rosé hugged a pillow to her body.
"Whoever works at our school must be an idiot because they said they would fix my schedule but here I am, still stuck in grade 12 biology with Ryan Seong. Dr. Kim is really just a stick in the mud," she complained. She set her mug down then leaned into the couch to relax. "You're in the same drama course at him. What's up with that?"
"That's different. The drama course is meant for mixed grades because teachers were just too lazy to make separate classes and stuck everyone in one course to get it over with. The school system is just trash."
"Agreed."
Lisa turned the TV on and the front door opened.
"Who is it?" she shouted.
"Your boyfriend is here..." Bambam replied and went into the kitchen with, "... Ryan," implying that Ryan was Lisa's boyfriend.
Ryan offered a smile and a wave, and the girls lost interest—Lisa, because she was disgusted with Bambam's comment, and Rosé, because she just felt like she should.
"Ew," Lisa mumbled with an eye roll, "That's your boyfriend, Bam."
"How do you know I was saying it to you and not Rosé?" Bambam teased and crossed his arms with a smile on his face. He saw Rosé's shoes at the door so he knew she was here.
Lisa was speechless for a second, then she cleared her throat. She reached over to get a couch pillow and flung it at Bambam.
"Get out of the living room, we're gonna do some studying," Bambam said and sat down on the couch with Lisa.
"You might be a Prince at school but this is my house and... my rules," she replied with a shrug and pout. "Go study somewhere else."
"Let's go to my place, Bam. My parents aren't home today so they're probably not busy arguing," Ryan suggested and Rosé regained interest.
"Your parents argue?" she asked out loud by accident.
"Ah... yeah. It's nothing though. Everyone's bound to bud heads," Ryan replied while avoiding most eye contact. He slung his bag over his shoulder and left with Bambam.
Lisa threw a pillow at Rosé and she came back to focus.
"What?"
"Why are you still staring? He's already gone," Lisa said.
"Um, no reason."
"His parents argue all the time. Why do you think he's with Bambam at my place after school? It's not just because he's doing Bam's homework but because its always a screaming match at his place. No biggy, Ryan seems fine with it."
Lisa changed the channel on the TV and Rosé sat quietly. Strangely, she felt bad about Ryan's situation. Her parents were divorced so she could relate. Hearing his parents argue every day must be hard.
"Do you really think he's fine? I mean, what if his parents get a divorce like mine did?" Rosé didn't know why she was so curious about Ryan's life but she had Lisa when her parents split up and now she was wondering if Ryan would be okay...
"What, are you in love with him or something?"
"Wh... No! Why would you say that! That's... that's... bleh," she said and stuck her tongue out. She crossed her arms in a huff and stared at the wall.
