"Oh god, she's coming over, she's coming over," Lisa mumbled and tried to leave her seat in the atrium but another student was in her way, "Move it-"
"Lisa..." Jennie called and Lisa cursed under her breath. She turned around and faked a smile at Jennie.
"Heyyy, Jennie. What's up?" Lisa forced herself to say.
"Nothing. I was just thinking about the time you said you were gonna have Ryan eating out of your palm. I don't think you're even close now that your best friend is in love with him." Despite the confidence in her tone, it was hard for Jennie to say this because of how jealous it made her—the thought of Ryan being with Lisa's best friend, Rosé.
Lisa clenched her jaw. She knew she had to step up her game. She needed to prove to Jennie that she could get any guy she wanted and she wasn't going to quit until she's made her point. The problem with that was she didn't know where to start anymore. She was a girl after all and everyone knew girls couldn't flirt for shit when it came to a guy they actually liked. Bantering was something she did with every guy but flirting, she wasn't used to it.
"Speechless? I thought so," Jennie said with a taunting smile. "See you around."
Jennie strutted away and Lisa could only scowl at her behind her back. She couldn't imagine losing face to Jennie out of all people, whom she thought of as the clout-chaser of the school. The only thing she could do at this point was to fake it. And ask Ryan to help her.
"He's an actor, right? It'll be easy," she thought. "Just some touching and flirting in front of Jennie will be enough."

Later that day, when it was time for Lisa's biology class with Ryan, she skipped over to their table and took her seat. They smiled at each other and Ryan pointed to his homework on his desk.
"Did you do it today?" he'd ask every day now.
Lisa took out her binder and showed off the homework she completed last night. A proud smile creeped onto her face as Ryan looked over her work.
"Wow, I'm impressed. The answers are correct too. Good job, Lisa." He praised her for the good work and Lisa actually felt even better about it. Who knew Ryan would be a good influence on her. She actually did her homework and it wasn't half-assed.
"Do I get a prize for my completed homework?" she asked with a flirty grin.
Ryan smiled and rested an arm on the back of her chair, leaning in a little. "What prize do you want?"
Lisa licked her lips and put a hand on Ryan's thigh. But right when she was about to speak, someone interrupted them.
"Ahem." The two students looked behind them and Mr. Kim was standing there with his arms crossed over his chest. They were so distracted with each other that they didn't even hear him come into the classroom. He gave a sarcastic smile and said, "Detention. Both of you."
The two of them groaned and slumped into their chairs. Ryan made eye contact with Jisoo who only frowned at him. She didn't want to get detention again so she stayed out this time.
After school was finished at the end of the day and classes were dismissed, Ryan was walking down the hall and, to his surprise, found Lisa at her locker for once. He laughed quietly as he approached and stopped behind her.
"It's funny, I didn't even know you had a locker," he teased.
"Ha ha. Cut the bullshit. What do you want, Ryan?" Lisa shut the metal door and turned around, wiping away the smile that crept onto her face from the sound of his voice.
