It was about an hour after the school day ended and Ryan and Rosé were rehearsing for the play. This time, they got to practice with the outfits they would wear on stage for the final performance. Standing on the stage of the performance hall, the two of them rehearsed their scenes together. Then, the kissing scene came...
"No other can compare to you, love," Ryan said. He approached Rosé but she backed away from him carefully.
"But what about your mother? She'd never see me as an equal."
"I don't care what she thinks."
Ryan stepped closer to Rosé, looking down and into her eyes. She found her heart rate quicken by how close he got, and from the way he looked at her, she struggled to keep her eye contact. It was the same kind of spark she felt the first time they rehearsed the scene. She had a nervous feeling in her gut as she tried not to stare at his lips for too long.
"What about Delilah? You're supposed to marry her."
"But you're the only one for me. It's always been you," he improvised then held her cheek in his hand. Ryan might've been getting better at his flirting but his acting must've improved as well because Rosé literally could not stop staring at his lips.
"Don't kiss him. Don't kiss him. Don't do it. Not again... ugh, fuck!"
"It'll always be you, Rosé." That's what she wanted to hear, but even though he didn't say it, she found herself tilting her chin upwards. Her hands touched the front of his body and she was ready to kiss him until...
"Geez, your acting is amazing," Ryan complemented and moved away.
"My... what?" she mumbled in a daze.
All of a sudden, the cast and crew in the performance hall began to clap for them. They cheered and the two of them bowed shyly. Walking away for a second, Ryan grabbed two bottles of water from the side. He came back to hand Rosé a bottle, and she took it from him while trying to act as normal as possible.
"That was perfect you two! I really made a great choice for my leads," Mr. Jeon said with a big smile that went from ear to ear. "You two will make this production immaculate! Let's make sure those who missed the chance to watch the play will cry from jealously."
Ryan chuckled, "They're already missing out if they haven't bought a ticket. We're already sold out."
Rosé almost chocked on her water from what Ryan said and he quickly came to her aid, patting her back gently. "The show's sold out already? How? It's just a stupid pl-" she made eye contact with Mr. Jeon and corrected herself right away, "I mean, why wouldn't it be? I'm the lead interest so of course everyone would want to watch it, haha."
She laughed nervously until Mr. Jeon looked away from her.
"Actually, many students said they bought a ticket to see Ryan as the male lead," a student from the production crew said.
"Well, who wouldn't buy it to see Ryan? He's so handsome," another complimented.
Ryan scratched the back of his neck and smiled to himself. He was pretty happy about something like that. He was happy that people thought he was handsome. It was much better than hearing people think he was a loser, but by now, those days were long gone. He could finally smile when he heard people talking about him because nobody was making fun of him anymore.
