Time has never felt slower for Rosé. After first period drama where Ryan's character was basically in love with her, she couldn't stop thinking about him. They didn't even rehearse the kissing scene but it's all she thought about through second period to last period. Even as she sat in the atrium with Lisa and Jennie after school, she kept checking her phone in case Ryan would text her.
"Ugh and I'm supposed to make some bullshit model of the solar system for bio. Literally nobody cares about all the other planets! People barely care about this one!" Lisa complained dramatically.
"Oh, please, it can't be that hard," Jennie replied. "Just paint a bunch of different sized balls and stick them on a bristol board."
"Jennie, I don't even know what colour Saturn is."
"I bet you'd know what colour Uranus is," Jennie mumbled.
Lisa scoffed and looked to Rosé. "Can you believe her?" she asked but Rosé was checking her phone again. "Dude, why do you keep looking at your phone? I told you to just ditch him so we can go shopping already."
"We go shopping every week," Rosé replied.
"And they have new deals every week, so what? You'd really rather be with him than me?"
Lisa wasn't sure if she wanted Rosé to herself or she just didn't want Rosé to be with Ryan. The idea of them being together, having kissed multiple times, wasn't sitting well with her. She was still supposed to prove to Jennie she could get Ryan so the more she thought about Rosé getting closer to him, the more it was started to feel like she wanted Ryan to herself—the sheer thought of Ryan in that way gave her the chills.
"I mean, I like going shopping with you but he asked me and it'd be awkward if I said no, you know?" This was an excuse Rosé has never used before because if she didn't want to be around someone, she wouldn't. Not even to be nice, not even out of pity. If she didn't like you, she'd reject you right off the bat.
Lisa was already suspicious of Rosé when it came to Ryan and she teased her at first but she didn't expect Rosé to actually fall for him. Lisa didn't want to believe it was an actual possibility.
"Fine," Lisa said resentfully. "But we're gonna grab dinner after and you're gonna tell me everything that happened."
Rosé rolled her eyes, "Okay."
Meanwhile, Jennie had no clue what they were talking about. She assumed it was some random guy who asked Rosé out on a date, which was pretty common. Rosé didn't usually say yes but when she did, it wasn't that big of a deal to Jennie. Before she could hear more about this guy, Jennie got a call from Jisoo.
"Hey, unnie. What's up?" she asked with the phone to her ear.
"Hey, Jendeuk. Wanna walk home together?"
"Uh, sure. You're not walking with Jihun today?" The last time Jennie checked, Jisoo walked home with Ryan fairly often—whenever Ryan wasn't doing homework with Bambam which was usually Tuesdays and Thursdays. Not that Jennie was keeping tabs on him, of course. She would never do that.
"No, he said he was gonna be rehearsing with Rosé. To be honest, she asks him to practice lines a lot..."
"Wait, he's gonna be with who?" Jennie asked. Didn't Rosé just say she had a date with some guy? she wondered. She hung up shortly after agreeing to walk home with Jisoo.
All of a sudden, Ryan appeared with Taehyung and Jungkook and joined the group. Ryan put an arm around Rosé's shoulder and when Rosé saw who it was, she stared up at him with an innocent smile.
