"Omo, Ryan, are you okay?"

"I can't believe you'd risk your life like that!"

"Ryan, do you need me to massage your arms? The hospital bed must've been uncomfortable."

"Ryan, let me feed you lunch. You shouldn't move so much!"

"Ugh, Ryan this, Ryan that. Aren't you annoyed yet?" Jisoo asked as she straightened Ryan's tie for him.

"Jisoo... You've said all those things as well."

Jisoo coughed dryly and avoided his eye contact. "It's not the same. You're not their best friend, you're mine..."

"I'm your best friend?" Ryan said with a big smile.

"Yah, did hurting your leg make you lose brain cells? Of course you're my best friend!"

Ryan laughed, then held Jisoo's hands. "You're my best friend too, Jisoo-yah. Thank you for caring about me."

"Who wouldn't care for the person who save their life? I'm just glad you weren't actually run over."

Ryan nodded and Jisoo let go of his hands, incase he'd feel how warm they were. Ryan winced in pain suddenly and Jisoo held his shoulders for support.

"Got you," he said with a grin.

"Don't do that!" Jisoo scolded and swatted his shoulder.

"It's nice when you worry about me."

Ryan smiled at her again and she became shy.

"Stop smiling at me like that. It's making me... not want to be nice to you anymore. Stop it."

"Jisoo unnie..."

The two turn around to see Jennie with a black sweater in her hands. She offered it to Ryan and he took it from her.

"This is actually a brand new one... Someone lit your old one on fire so I decided to buy another for you. I'm sorry, Ryan," Jennie said quietly.

"Don't be sorry, Jennie. It's not like you hit me with a car," Ryan replied. "And thanks for the new sweater. I had a second one but it's okay."

"It was my fault that Shawn didn't see you. We were arguing in the car and things happened, which lead to me throwing his jacket in his face. Just please accept my apology..."

Ryan chuckled, "stop apologizing and I'll forgive you."

A small smile formed on Jennie's lips as she looked at the ground. Then she nodded. "I'm gonna go now. Goodbye, unnie. Bye, Ryan."

Jennie walked away and Jisoo sighed. She couldn't stop thinking about Jennie trying to open the door of Shawn's car but he didn't let her. Jisoo always knew things weren't too good with Shawn but it began to cross a line and she wanted Jennie to be far away from him.

"Jennie! Hey, wait up," one of Shawn's friends said and ran up to Jennie. "I heard about what happened."

"... What do you mean?" she asked, hoping he wasn't going to talk about the accident.

"I just heard you broke up with Shawn. Did you tell him what happened between us?"

"Nothing happened between us, Chanyeol. Leave me alone now."

"Hey, come on, don't say that. We have fun, don't we?" Chanyeol said and gently held Jennie's hand. "Isn't this what we wanted? Now that Shawn's out of the picture, we can finally be together. What do you say?"

Jennie let go of his hand. "No, Chanyeol. I don't think it'll be a good idea."

Chanyeol looked offended, maybe even a little sad, but then he smirked at her.

"I get it. You're probably still getting over him. I'll be here if you need me. You're always one for attention of others so I know you won't stray too far."

Chanyeol gave Jennie a kiss on the cheek and walked away. Jennie rubbed her cheek with her sleeve and huffed.

"Who does he think he is? I should've never slept with him in the first place. It did him well more than me."

Jennie shuddered at the thought of her and Chanyeol before continuing to walk down the hall.

Other students in the halls threw looks at her, many were looks of jealousy but most were judgemental glares. She thought being popular meant that people looked up to you, not hate everything about you, but that's exactly what happened when she first dated Shawn.

In the beginning he was the best boyfriend ever, but as time passed, both lost interest in each other and eventually they began to bicker and argue everyday.

"Poor Jennie, she got dumped by Shawn. The only thing that could probably save her now would be to date the new guy, Ryan Seong. Did you see him? He's so hot and probably way out of Jennie's league."

"I can hear you, you know?" Jennie said to the girl that was gossiping to her friend. The two crossed their arms and smirked at her.

"Good luck trying to date some like Ryan. He'll probably never notice someone else's trash," the other girl said with a hair flip.

"What, you think you can date him? Have you seen a mirror lately? I feel like I'm talking to Spiderus," Jennie scoffed and mocked their dramatic hair flips. "Watch the makeup before you try to diss me again. Boys don't like that kind cake."

Jennie rolled her eyes and left. Making fun of other people was what she had to do to stay relevant in this school. Sometimes other people deserved it but she would often feel bad if she caught a glimpse of their reaction so she always tried to leave before the tears came. Besides, it wasn't like anyone was ever nice to her in the first place.

"Why should I be nice if everyone is going to bitch about what I do? I could date Ryan if I wanted, that's easy. If anything, he had a crush on me before so it'll be easier to manipulate him... How should I approach though?"

Just then, Jennie spotted Rosé and Lisa skipping class and sitting at a table in the atrium. She hopped over and sat with them, ignoring their eye rolls every time they saw her.

"Hey, Jen... what're you up to?" Rosé said with an obviously sarcastic tone.

"Not much, I was just thinking of the guy I was with last night. You guys know Ryan, right?"

"You slept with someone who's leg is crippled? Are you that desperate?" Lisa laughed and Rosé joined. "Hey, Rosie, didn't you say Ryan flirted with you on the first day of school. Well, now you have a reason to get rid of him because he's been with Jennie here."

"Who's to say she isn't lying? Why would Ryan even talk to her in the first place?" Rosé said back.

"Probably for the same dumb reason he "flirted" with you?" Jennie defended.

"Why would you talk to Ryan anyway? You were the one spreading rumours about him before but then again, your standards are probably low from being with Chanyeol," Lisa said.

"What's your point? You've been with him too."

"You've been with Chanyeol?" Rosé asked Lisa who was now glaring at Jennie.

Jennie crossed her arms and spoke with confidence, "didn't you know? Lisa's been with him twice."
