Ryan was supposed to have dinner with the guys but he flopped on the plans to go home. It had been hours since Jisoo stormed off of school property, but her voice was echoing nonstop in his head.
"Don't ever speak to me again. You'll ruin your new reputation."
He wanted to call her and text her but when he picked up his phone, he couldn't get his fingers to move. He was hesitating because he knew she was mad at him and he honestly didn't know what to say. He couldn't understand why she was mad when he defended her—when he was finally able to stand up to Shawn. And let's be real, Shawn deserved that punch.
Ryan looked at the clock on the wall of his bedroom and it read 8:15pm. He decided he wouldn't hesitate anymore. He got up and drove to Jisoo's place. He rang the bell and waited for an answer.
Jisoo's mother answered, "Oh, Jihun! It's been so long! How have you been, dear?"
"Been good, Mrs. Kim. Sorry, is Jisoo home? I need to speak to her." Ryan wasn't usually this hasty when talking to Jisoo's parents but this was important.
Jisoo's mother made an awkward face. "Jisoo... is not feeling well at the moment. I could give her a message if you-"
"I don't want to see you!" shouted a voice from outside. "Go home, Ryan."
Ryan apologized to Jisoo's mother and walked onto the driveway where he could see Jisoo's bedroom window. She opened a small crack and stood in a spot where he couldn't see her looming over him in anger.
"Can we talk? Please?" Ryan pleaded, getting a little annoyed by her childish behaviour.
"No! I have nothing to say to you right now!" Jisoo replied but she remained standing there. She couldn't pick up her feet to move. No matter how much she wanted to hear Ryan's apology, she couldn't talk to him right now. She knew not to have conversations when she was angry in case she ended up saying something she didn't mean.
From the corner of her eye she saw the stuffed bunny they won at the arcade together. It only made her more upset and she began to tear up.
"Jisoo... I'm being serious. Let's talk. Come on." Ryan was getting impatient now.
She grabbed the bunny and went to the window. They stared at each other for a silent moment, and Ryan's heart sank when he saw her watery eyes. Seconds later she threw the stuffed bunny out the window and at him.
"Go away!" She yelled one last time before shutting the window and closing her drapes.
Ryan went to pick up the bunny and brushed the sand off its face. He was devastated, but he was also angry. He didn't understand why she was upset with him and now she won't even talk to him. Holding the bunny in his hand made his heart ache in fury. He got into his car and threw the bunny to the backseat and drove away. He felt the anger rising and gripped the steering wheel tightly.
He went for a short drive to clear his mind and somehow, he ended up in Rosé's neighbourhood. He drove up to her house and parked at on her driveway but he didn't get out of the car. He just sat there and rested his forehead against the wheel, breathing deeply to calm himself down a little. He didn't want to scare Rosé or anything.
Knock knock knock.
"Holy shit!" Ryan shouted and flinched from the sound. He looked out the window and Rosé stood there with a gentle smile—something he cherished for that moment because he needed it. He got out of the car to talk to her. "You scared the shit out of me."
"Sorry," she said and touched his arm. She was wearing a sweater that was a few sizes too big for her frame and her hair was in a messy bun. "What're you doing here? I saw a car pull up from my security camera and I recognized your car."
