I Don't Do Disrespect (Marina)

Chapter 32

Mayas POV

We made it to the hospital just after the ambulance did. I couldn't figure out how to work Kai's car seat so Carina had to take over there, and even then Kai was telling us how it worked

Now that we have gotten to the hospital Kai was more nervous and was clinging to me

It was definitely something I wasn't used too

"I need to call Mason... can you take him?" I ask carina and she nods

"No! No I don't want to!" Kai yells and tightens his grip on me

"Kai I just need to call your dad... can you sit with Carina please?" I try again but he just shakes his head while starting to cry

"No no no it's okay, don't cry" I tell him but it doesn't work

"I want my mommy" he cries against me and I sigh, rubbing his back as I walked around the waiting room

"I know bub," I say and continue to walk around until eventually Kai fell asleep in my arms

"Do you want me to take him now?" Carina ask me

"No... I don't want to wake him up and he be upset" I tell Carina and sit down

"Okay I'll give you some privacy" she says, kissing my head once she got up and she walked away

I didn't want to call Mason and tell him what happened. That's not a phone call anyone wants

I pulled up masons contact and it only rang three times before he picked up

"Hello?"

"Hey Maya, is everything okay? I'm at work"

"Well.... Nicole had an accident of some sort" I say

"What? What do you mean accident? Is she okay? Is Kai okay?"

"We're at the hospital now... she was bleeding and passed out. The doctors haven't told me anything yet. And Kai is fine. He is asleep in my lap right now"

"Thank you, I'm on my way"

He hung up phone as soon as he said he was on his way, this is not how today was supposed to go

Carina came back a few minutes later with a bag from the gift shop along with two coffees

"I don't know how good they are but here you go" she says and hands me one

"Thank you" I tell her and she smiles

"what did you get?" I ask

"Oh, just a small stuffed animal and a juice for Kai" she says and I smile and put my hand on her leg and she puts hers over mine

"Are you okay?" She ask me

"I'm fine... just a little overwhelmed" I admit. Not in a million years did I think I would have a three year old asleep on me but here we are

And while usually when I feel like this I take my frustrations out in the gym by running or what not, I cant move Kai. His mother is somewhere in this hospital and we don't know if she's gonna make it: let alone his little sister

"Take a walk. Give me Kai and go walk" Carina says and I shake my head

"No... I'm fine" I tell her

"Maya I'm serious. You're going to wait until you burst and that's not going to end good. Just walk down to the lobby and back and you can have Kai back" she says and I sigh but nod

I got up carefully and placed Kai in carinas lap, he immediately cuddled into her chest and gripped the top of her shirt

"Go... well be right here" Carina says and I nod and bend down to kiss her quickly

"I'll be back"

Carinas POV

After Maya had put Kai into my lap she walked away, I know she didn't want to but I needed her to calm down

She also told me her brother was on his way so I hope things go okay

Maya came back 15 minutes later and took Kai from me and sat back down

It's cute to see the way she is with Kai, even with the unfortunate circumstances

Not long after who I'm assuming to be Mason came in and over to Maya immediately

"Is she okay? Is the baby okay?" He ask her

"They haven't said anything" Maya tells him and he goes to the nurses station and came back a few minutes later

"Well?" Maya ask him

"They just said she was in surgery and would get an update" he sighs and sits down next to Maya

"I can't believe this is happening, I don't know what I'm going to do. Moms out of town so I have no one to watch Kai... I don't even know if Nicole will be okay" he rambles

Nobody spoke for a few moments until Maya finally did

"I'll keep him Mason... until mom comes back... schools out so I don't have to work right now" she says and both Mason and I look to her

I know Mayas trying to help but with all of her rules, especially how she freaks out when anything is out of place

"I can't ask you to do that" Mason says

"I know, but I'm offering.. let me help Mason" Maya says and he sighs and nods

"Yea... okay... thank you" he says and she nods and looks over to me with a small smile, I returned the smile and put my hand on Mayas knee

Not even a minute later a doctor came out to talk to Mason

As soon as he stood up Kai started to wake in Mayas arms

"Auntie Maya?" He ask sleepily

"Yea bub?" She responds

"My mommy okay?" He ask

"I don't know yet... but your daddy is here" she says and Kai picks his head up to look around and stops when he sees him

"I can go to him?" He ask Maya and she nods and helps Kai off her lap and he runs to Mason and pats him on the back, Mason turned around to pick him up and turned back to the doctor

"You sure you can take care of him for a few days?" I ask Maya

"Yea... he's a good kid. How hard can it be?" She ask
Rhetorically,

"Maya he's three... he's not going to be like this all the time. But if you're serious about this I'll stay and help as much as I can" I assure her and she nods

"Thank you" she smiles at me

I love her... there's no denying that. The Maya before the break up would have told me off for questioning her decision about Kai... but she listens

I knew I loved her for a while but I don't want to scare her, and now is definitely not the time to tell her

Mason came back over to us and I took my hand off of mayas leg

"They said she's out of surgery but not awake yet... they also delivered the baby" he tells us

"But she's okay?" Maya ask and he nods

"She's going to be okay" he smiles

"We see mommy now?" Kai ask

"Not yet buddy, we can go see your baby sister now" Mason tells him

"Yes please!" Kai exclaims

"You guys want to come?" Mason ask us

"No... you go. Well wait" Maya tells him and he nods

"Thank you for being here... if you wanna go home I can drop you off later" Maya tells me

"I want to stay with you... I'm excited to see how you act with a toddler
