Chapter 77

Carinas POV

I have 15 minutes of my class left and have not received any messages from Maya in the time that I have been here.

"Okay! Great job everyone. Let's take a short break so you guys can get your water and use the potty" I say and the parents that stay come to their kids and the kids whose parents don't stay, grab their water bottle

Since they are still pretty young, I make sure to give them multiple breaks throughout because if not, every 5 minutes one of them would have to use the bathroom

While they were busy I grabbed my phone and called Maya, she said she was going to campus with Andy so I'm not sure why she isn't answering .

I decided on calling Andy too and she picked up the phone on the second ring

"Carina, hey"

"Hey, are you with Maya? She's supposed to be picking me up from work soon and I haven't heard from her"

"Yea... yea I'm with her. We'll be there soon"

I quickly said goodbye and put my phone away just as the kids were coming back into the room.

For the last 15 minutes we played a game that allowed everyone to start relaxing and calming down a little more.

They were all laughing with each other and when time was up they came up to me and hugged me like they do each time

"Bye bye everyone! I'll see you next week" I smile and some of the parents thanked me before leaving

Once everyone was gone I grabbed my bag and walked out to the front to see if Maya had arrived.

I seen her car parked outside and noticed Andy was in the driving seat. Just before I started to walk that way I noticed that one of my students was still sitting outside

"Caroline, who is supposed to be picking you up today sweetheart?" I ask her, she was sitting on a bench outside the studio so I sat down next to her

"My mommy. But I don't know where she is" she says softly and I nod

"I see. Let's go back inside and I will call your mama" I suggest and she nods

I sent a text to Andy letting her know what I was doing and went back inside with Caroline

"Okay, just wait here while I find her number" I tell Caroline. All of the papers the parents filled out at the beginning of the first class are kept in a shared office.

I found Caroline's contact paper and dialed her mom's number, it rang but went to voicemail.

"Hi, this is Carina Deluca, I'm Caroline's dance instructor. I'm sitting here with her inside and we are waiting for someone to pick her up. Please call me as soon as possible. Thank you"

I left the voicemail and walked back to sit with Caroline

"Is my mommy coming?" She ask me and I sigh

"She didn't answer" I tell her and she frowns

"Oh"

"It's okay, I'll call her again in a few minutes" I say and she nods

Andy: is everything okay? How much longer do you think it will be?

Carina: yes everything is fine. I'm not sure. Hope it's soon

I was about to call her mother again when we heard the studio door open

"Is that my mommy?" She ask and the two of us stand up

"I'm not sure bambina, let's go see" I say and she nods and grabs my hand

As soon as we walked out of our room her mother seen us from the end of the hallway

"Caroline! Let's go" she says loudly

"Bye Ms.Carina" Caroline whispers and hugs me tightly before running down the hall to her mother.

I followed behind them and met Andy at the car

"Where is Maya?" I ask her when I get in

"I drove her back to your house" she explains and I frown,

"Why? What's wrong? She was on campus right?" I ask Andy and she sighs and shakes her head

"She called me after she dropped you off and told me she was going to a bar, I met her there and by the time I got there and could convince her to leave, she was out of it." She explains and I groan

"Is she okay?" I ask and she nods

"I left her on the couch and came to get you. What happened for her to do this? Maya hasn't drank like that in a while" Andy comments and I nod

"Her mom stopped by this morning, her dad is in the hospital and is really sick" I explain

"she is not taking it well" Andy says and I shake my head

"No I guess not" I say and lean against the window

"Do you want to go and get your car? I'll just drive Mayas back to the house" I ask Andy

"Yea actually that would be great" she says

Once back at the bar, I got into the drivers seat of Mayas car and Andy got in her own

She followed me back to our house and came inside with me

Maya was passed out on the couch with the trashcan from the bathroom next to her.

"You don't have to stay Andy. I can take care of her" I explain

"I have nothing better to do. And knowing Maya, she'll be completely shut off when she wakes up anyway" Andy says and I smile, I'm glad Maya has her

Andy and I sat opposite of Maya in the living room and had a movie playing in the background while we talked.

Maya woke up not too long later, groaning and covering her eyes

"Hey sleeping beauty" I say and she sits up

"Fuck, Carina I am so sorry" she says and I nod

"It's okay, " I assure her and she shakes her head

"No it's not. Baby I am so sorry," she says and I get up from my seat and crouch down in front of Maya. Taking her hands in mine

"It's okay. I'm okay. Andy came and got me and we're fine. How are you feeling?" I ask her

"Like shit." She says and gets up and walks back the hall

"Sure you wanna stay?" I chuckle and Andy smiles

"Yes, I'll go out and get food soon maybe that will make her feel better" she says and I nod and we both walk back the hall to my bedroom where Maya was laying on the bed

I took my dance top off and replaced it with a long t-shirt before taking my bra off and climbing into bed with Maya and Andy on the other side

"I love you." I tell her after noticing the tears she had in her eyes

"I know, I love you too. Both of you" Maya says and Andy put her hand on Mayas shoulder since she was laying on her side facing me

I was a little upset when Andy first told me where Maya was but now laying here with her, seeing the the tear tracks on he face made all of the feelings of being upset go away

I pressed a kiss against her lips and let my hand caress her cheek

I'm hoping Andy is wrong, is Maya shuts down, it's going to be way harder to help
