Carinas POV

It's been two weeks since Maya broke up with me, school has been terrible, Maya is such a bitch anymore it's unbearable

I have tried reaching out to her and she won't answer my calls, I have tried going to her house and she won't answer the door

I only have a week of school left and I'm done and we're going to Italy, she hasn't spoken to me in two weeks, one more and we won't see each other for ever

I got up this morning and dressed into a pair of sweats and a crop top, I grabbed my bag and went down the stairs, the house is just about empty now, just the necessities are here

I sighed and left the house, I didn't want to leave L.A but... it is what it is

When I got to school I was early, something I have gotten used to with being with Maya

There was only one other person in her classroom when I walked in, Maya was at her desk typing something at her computer, she looked at me when I walked in and turned back to her computer

I just sighed and sat in the back, thankfully Arizona walked in right after me and sat with me

"Okay.. it's been two weeks, why haven't you made up?" She ask and I look at her confused

"What?" I ask and she groans

"I know you have something with Ms.Bishop" she says and I just stare at her, how did she find out?

What if she outs us? Oh god

"Arizona" I whisper

"Hey... I'm not saying anything, I swear, just- she's been in a mood and you've been distant so I figured something was up now" she says and I sigh

"She broke up with me because I'm moving to Italy" I tell her, it was nice to be able to talk to someone but Maya was just right there

"Seriously?" She ask and I nod

"She won't do the distance?" She ask and I shake my head

"Nope, she kicked me out of her house two weeks ago and haven't talked to me since" I say and the bell rings and I groan

"Hey.. you can text me whenever" she smiles and I nod

"Yea thanks" I say and she nods

As soon as the bell rang Maya stood up and stood in front of her desk and just looked at us all

She grabbed a stack of books off the front desk and passed them out

"I want you to finish this book today, I want a two page essay turned in by midnight, I want you to relate the aspects of the book to life now" Maya says and I roll my eyes

"We read this book last year" one of the students says, which was true,

The Great Gatsby, a book we have all already read

"I don't care, read it again, and don't even think you can get by with your knowledge from last year, there are 50 questions that go along with the reading, detailed enough for you to need to read and not enough for you to google" Maya says

"Wait- you want us to read the entire novel, write a two page essay and have 50 questions submitted by midnight?" Another student scoffs

"Yes. No late work taken, you will get a zero if I don't have this by midnight, not even a minute later" she says and glares at me before going to the other side of her desk

"See what I mean? Mood, a bitchy one at that" Arizona says while rolling her eyes

"No joke" I scoff and we open our assignment to see all the questions Maya has written out

"For fucks sake" I mumble and Arizona laughs

This assignment is ridiculous, I wonder if I can just get my mama to be bitchy to the principal and get me out of this

That would be worth it just to see Mayas reaction now

I smiled at my own thoughts and started on the work

I swear it wasn't even 5 minutes later when Maya called my name, i thought I was hearing things because she hasn't said my name since she kicked me out

"Deluca!" Maya says sternly and I look up at her

I have missed her so much, why does she have this power over me

"Come here" she says and I sigh and walk up to her desk and she gives me a note

"What's this?" I ask before reading it

"I know you can read" she says and I roll my eyes

"Fuck you" I mumble and walk out of the class,

The stupid little note said I needed to go to the library,

"Carina!" I heard just before I got there and turned around to see Andy and I sighed

"I have to go" I tell her,

"The note was from me, I couldn't just say that, Maya would have refused" she tells me and I just stand there for a moment

"Walk with me?" She ask and I sigh but nod

We walked all the way to her classroom in silence, when we got there she sat on her desk and I sat on one across from her with my legs crossed

"What do you want Andy?" I ask, I know I'm supposed to be calling her "Ms.Herrera" but that seems so weird

"You need to talk to Maya" she says and I laugh

"You don't think I have tried? I have Andy, she won't even look at me, look- im sorry okay? I am, I don't have a choice. I need to go to Italy" I say and stand up and walk to the door

"I really really tried. I didn't want to leave her. I didn't want to end things. She ended it Andy, she did that. She told me to leave,. So if wants to continue being a bitch, that's on her" I say and walk out of her classroom and back to Mayas

Arizona gave me a weird look when I walked in and I shrugged it off, talking with Andy really had upset me.

She was acting as if it was my fault, my fault that Maya is mad, I didn't do that. She did that herself

I spent the rest of class reading the stupid little book she wanted us to read, there is no way I can do all this work today

When the bell rang I watched until everyone left before I walked up to Maya, she didn't even look at me but I was starting to get used to that

"Look, I know you're pissed, but call off Andy, I don't appreciate her pulling me out of class to act like more than a teacher" I tell Maya and she looks at me this time,

Still not a word but she looked, I didn't say anything after that either, as soon as she turned away I walked out of her class

It's not even lunch and I'm already over this day
