Chapter 78

Carinas POV

Mayas mom called this morning, her dad died last night. She says she's fine and that it doesn't matter but I know she's not fine.

She hasn't been home at all today. She left after her mom called and told me she was going to the gym. Then called me later on and said she was meeting Andy for lunch. Which I called Andy this time to make sure and Andy was with her. After she assured me she was with Maya and wasn't leaving her alone I felt much better

I decided that she needed space so I'm not going to bother her. I picked up a few things around the house and tidied up. Maya keeps it super clean in here anyway and by default so do I, because if not, I find myself in hot waters with her

I picked up the random small things that were laying around and went outside to sit in the swing that we have on the porch. It was the first thing I made Maya buy for me here before I even moved in. It was a safe place for me

Whenever Maya is upset and in her moods where she just wants to be alone, I come here, she eventually makes her way to me to apologize and ask me to come inside with her but in the meantime I just sit

Tomorrow after lunch Maya is supposed to go over to her brothers place to meet with their mom to talk about their next steps and what to do for their father.

Once it was nearing 6 pm I was starting to get a little worried about Maya still not being home. I already showered and ate a small dinner and am back in my swing on the porch

I thought about calling Maya but I figure she is fine and if she wasn't, Andy would call

Around 7 I heard the front door open and shut. It didn't take long before she was opening the sliding glass doors and stepping out on the patio with me

"Hi baby" she says and sits down in a lounger next to me

"Hi, how was your day?" I ask, and she shrugs

"It was okay, but I missed you. Shower with me?" She ask and I shake my head

"I already showered,". Tell her

"Okay love" Maya says and comes over to kiss me softly before walking back into the house,

I finished my cup of tea before venturing inside. I placed my mug in the sink and walked back to my room

The shower was still running when I got back there, I really didn't want to shower again but I also didn't want Maya thinking I was upset with her when I wasn't

I opened the bathroom door a little so I could get in and shut it before I let any of the cold air in.

"Rina?" Maya calls out at as soon as the door shut

"I'm here bambina" I say and sit on the vanity while Maya continued her shower

"I missed you today" she says and I smile,

"I missed you more, I was a little worried since I hadn't heard from you" I admit

"I know, I'm sorry: I should have called or at least texted you. It's just my mom and Mason kept blowing my phone up so I just turned it off" she tells me

"It's okay," I assure her

"Will you come with me tomorrow?" She ask me after a few moments
