Chapter 31

Mayas POV

Nicole reached out to me again wanting to get together. Supposedly Kai had been asking to see me again. Not sure how much of that I believe

But since it's too cold to keep Kai outside for long im meeting them at their house. She did assure me that Mason would be gone at work so it's just us

And against my better judgement, Carina has convinced me to let her come with

I hate how persuasive she can be. So now, we are both getting ready to head out. Andy was supposed to tag along but something came up with her dad so I told her to just stay with him instead

"Mommy!" I heard Carina yell and I immediately rolled my eyes, she hasn't called me Maya since the other night and it's driving me crazy

"Carina I swear I'm going to beat you" I chuckle and I heard her laugh through the house in response but when I got to my bedroom she was standing in only her black bra and thong matching set

"On second thought" I smile and walk up behind her to wrap my arms around her bare waist

"No no no, I need help finding clothes" she says and I step back and look at all the clothes in her bag

"Baby you look fine in what you have on" I smirk and and she rolls her eyes

"I want Kai to like me, help me find something a three year old would like" she says and I smile and nod and just give her two random clothing items

"I still like the first one"I mumble and she smirks and gets dressed

"Maybe if you're good I'll give you the first one" she says and I smile and kiss her gently

She quickly stepped closer to me and hugged her arms around me

"Mmm we should go" I say; kissing her lips three more times before grabbing her hand and exiting the room

"I hope you know you're picking up all your clothes you threw everywhere when we get back" I say and she laughs

"I was wondering how long it would take for you to say something" she says and I just shake my head in response

Once we got into my car I put the address Nicole had given me into the system and started the drive

I was a little nervous to be doing this, so many things could go wrong. Especially if they find out how Carina and I's relationship had begun in the first place

"We're you this shaky last time too?" Carina ask me and I just look at her

"Your knee has been bouncing since we pulled out of your driveway " she says with a soft smile and puts her hand on  leg

"I just- I don't want to screw things up, I don't want to be a part of Kai's life just for something to go wrong and I never see him again" I tell her. I hate sharing my feelings but last time I didn't tell Carina something we ended up ending things and I don't want that to to happen again

Plus if I expect her to be open and honest with me I should do the same with her

"I don't think you have to worry about that.... She' obviously wants you in his life or she wouldn't be reaching out. Maya you're a great person and it's hard not to love you" she smiles at me

She said love....figure of speech right?

"You called me Maya" I smirk and she rolls her eyes

"Don't get used to it mommy" she says and I laugh and we settle into a comfortable silence the rest of the ride
