Chapter 63

Carinas POV

It's been a week since graduation and tonight is my first night back at work, I'm so excited to see everyone and to actually get back into it

Now that I'm done with school I'm kind of at a loss with everything, years prior I would just go back to school in august but I don't want to go back

I'm done and I want to stay done, I just have absolutely no idea what I want to do with my life

So for now I will just continue to work so I can get some type of income,

When my mama walked away she really walked away, she cancelled all of my cards that I had and she took my car...

Like what a bitch but whatever

I had enough money put back to use to get another, I just have to pay each month for it unlike my old one, but what she also doesn't know is I took some money out of the account when she showed up just in case

Not even that much, just where she wouldn't notice and im assuming she hasn't

And with that and the money I have saved and put back I'm still pretty comfortable with money, obviously it won't last very long or anything especially since I'm going to start paying half of the bills here with Maya,

Which brings us to now, Maya doesn't exactly know I'm going to work yet, I'm an adult so I don't really have to run everything by her

Plus today is a lazy day for us, Maya spent the entire week on the phone with people about a job, not that is matters right now or anything anyway. She's still getting paid her salary from her other job but it's maya so she wants to be prepared

She told me she contacted the local college and is trying to get a job there so has had many conversations this week locked away in her study which means little time for me.

I understand though, she needs a job and she's making it up to me today, lazy days don't happen very often with Maya, she doesn't like to be sitting in one place too long but she's doing it for me

"I have to leave here around 7" I tell Maya and she frowns

"What why,? Where are you going?" She ask me

"I go back to work tonight" I tell her and she sighs

"Carina.... I really don't think this is a good idea. Why can't you look for a different job" she says and I groan but stay in my spot

"I like my job maya, it's fun. I make good money and I have friends" I say and she sighs once again and rubs her hand along my leg

"I just... I'm not comfortable with you working there anymore" she says and part of me was happy and proud of her that she actually admitted her feelings but still

"I need you to explain why not, because I don't want to do anything that makes you uncomfortable but this is my job Maya, and I really like it" I say and rest back against her

"I don't like that other people get to see you so exposed, I don't think it's right. And you shouldn't be using your body for money. I trust you carina but I don't trust everyone else in there" maya says and I nod, and turn around in her lap so that I could face her

"I like my body, and it's yours. Even from the beginning no one touches and especially not now. It's simply for viewing pleasure. And if I'm comfortable in my skin why not show it a little?" I ask

"Do you have to show so much?" She ask seriously and I smile and laugh a little

"We'll see" I say and she still frowns

"Im coming with you" she says and I look at her surprised, Maya has never wanted to come to work with me

"What?" I ask and she just kind of looks at me with a small smile

"I want to come with you. That way I know you're safe" she says and i sigh and get off her lap to walk to the kitchen

"Maya I have been working there longer than we have been together. I love you. And I love that you care so much but I will be okay" I say and she shakes her head and follows me into the kitchen

"I still want to come. I'll be quiet and I will just sit I promise" she says and I turn to face her, I know she means good, she always does but I don't know if it's a good idea for her to come

"Fine. But you can't be overbearing and protective. I still have a job to do" I tell her firmly and she smiles

"Deal, I'll even bring some dollar bills" she smirks and I laugh

"You're terrible!" I exclaim and she just puts her hands on my waist and brings me into her

"I love you" she tells me and kisses my lips softly,

"I love you"

I knew this was a bad idea. I can't believe I actually let maya talk me into this.

I have only been at work for half an hour and Maya is already driving me crazy. She doesn't understand that her constantly following me or trying to stop me from doing something is interfering with my job

"Carina! Come here" she tells me and I groan

"Maya enough, we have stage names for a reason. You can't call me that." I tell her in a whisper and she frowns

"Sorry. Forgot" she says and I sigh with my hands on my hips

"I'm up next. Please do not draw any attention to yourself"

Mayas POV

I don't like it. I don't like it one bit.

She should not be working here. I get that she wants to dance or what not but this is not the place. I don't like other people being able to see what is mine

I know she loves her job and she enjoys doing this but it doesn't mean I have to like it

When carina came on I tried not to look at all the people looking at her but I couldn't help it. There were so many of them.

I sat back in my seat and finished my drink while she was on stage. I just wanted to take her home. Where it's just the two of us

She eventually came back on the floor and I watched as some dude came up to her and put his hands on her waist for a moment before she pushed them off

That was my last straw

I immediately got up and walked over to them just as the guy put his hands back on her

"Hey! Get off of her!" I exclaim and pull carina close to me and I felt someone put their hands on my shoulders to move me away

"Greg stop! She's fine" I heard carina say and I turned to see some huge guy glaring at me

"Let's go" she says firmly to me and drags me back to where she gets ready at

"What did I tell you? Maya we have bouncers for a reason. We are safe. There are people watching over us all the time. If you would have waited 5 seconds Greg would have handled it!" She yells at me

"I'm sorry but I'm not going to sit back and watch as some guy puts his hands all over you" I tell her and she rolls her eye

"God you're insufferable!" She mumbles

"You need to go" she tells me and I shake my head

"No way, I'm not leaving without you" i tell her and she doesn't respond to me but walks away into another room

I wanted to follow but I also didn't want her to get more mad at me

I honestly did nothing wrong. I was just trying to make sure she was okay

A few Moments later carina came back out of the room in sweats and a sweat shirt with a bag over her shoulder

"Let's go"
