Chapter 1: Why Not Over Here in Brooklyn? (Edited)

2:12 P.M

Omniscient

Waking up on a very hot sunny day in Brooklyn, the season is Spring. The old people are chilling on the front of their porch, little kids are enjoying their Spring break from school by playing outside, and the dads are just on the grill cooking and enjoying their day.

Meanwhile, Justine is scrolling through Instagram while sitting at the island in the kitchen as her mom is making conversation with the next door neighbor.

 While her mother continues to talk, Justine gets a incoming FaceTime call from one of her friends Genesis that she mostly only talked to at school before she graduated.

The Call:

"Hey Justine, how are you?" asks her friend Genesis in a nice tone. 

"Alright I guess, what do you need at this time?" says Justine. 

"Nothing really, I just wanted to see if everything is alright with you."

 Justine thinks to herself that Genesis did something that she wasn't supposed to do. 

"Okay what's up with you. What is it?" Justine finally lets go of her thoughts and asks her.

 "Okay so I know that you love to stay home and shit especially at this time of the day, but I was wondering if you will love to tag along with me at this little party? nun of my other friends would come with me so you my only option. And you know I don't enjoy going places like this by myself, MOST DEFININTLY  if I'm the one that wants to go. You know anything could happen, and I get mad drunk when I find out there'll be alcohol. You need to put ya damn pride away"

 Justine sighs at the thought of her going to a party, Justine doesn't get invited to those ever.

"I'll think about it, what time does it start?" Justine asks out of curiosity; she thinks that spending time out of the house will actually be enjoyable since she barely leaves.

The last memory Justine had of her actually having fun, was the day of her graduation which took place last year in June.

10 months ago. Which was also the last time she saw Genesis, so it was strange for her to randomly call Justine just because she wants her to be a bodyguard.

 "The party starts around 9 or 9:30 P.M, but of course we will be there a little late. Not only that but, it does take place around SevSide- SEVSIDE? LIKE YOU MEAN THE BRONX?" Justine yells as she interrupts Genesis.

 "yes girl. Why are you shocked? its just like a hour away and all the good parties take place in the Bronx I heard." Says Genesis.

 "I'm sorry it's just out of all places the Bronx? why not over here in Brooklyn?" Justine says.  "but, I guess I'll go. I'll see you later Genesis" 

Justine then hangs up the phone to rethink her decision.

Did she really want to go? or is it better keeping her pride?

 The Same Day

 Justine's POV

I sprayed the rest of my perfume on as Genesis waits for me outside honking her horn every two minutes.

Seeing me finally arrive out, she then unlocks her car door so that I could get inside. Genesis then makes conversation so the car ride will not be awkward due to it being a long drive.
